If it appears in the menus but not in the game that usually indicates an error in the text in ships.ini.

Also ensure you have the weapon text entries correctly inserted in ships.ini

To debug

1.    Remove all entries from ini and properties files except for chief.ini and ships.ini. -- run the game.

2.    If it doesn't work, ensure entries are in [Ship] section  of chief.ini, ensure weapons entries are in correct location in ships.ini

Woot, my first post on the forum!

I have a quickie (I hope) question about adding the Caio Duilio into HSFX5.1 and 4.10 IL-2.

Normally, the MODS folder would contain an STD folder with all the standard files including a ship.ini. Since all of your previous ships were added automatically, there is no STD folder in the MODS folder. Should I go ahead and add it to the ship.ini in the main IL-2 directory? Or is there something else I have to do?

Thanks in advance, both for your awesome ships and any help you can offer!

There are various ways to do this.
One way, probably the best, is to use SAS ModActivator for HSFX5.

This will give you a Mods folder with all the required files for editing.

Do not edit anything in root/files

If you already have created a Mods folder then an easy way would be to copy  (not move)

files/com (including sub folders)
and files/i18n 

copy into Mods folder
--then in the Mods folder rename files to STD

Only do this if you do not have a STD folder already.

Do all the editing of ini and properties files in your Mods folder. nowhere else.
This way if at some stage you corrupt the Mods installation then you can rename Mods to -Mods and your installation will revert to a clean HSFX5 install

Okay, Ashe, thanks for the info. I thought about creating my own STD folder and doing what you stated, but I wanted to get the skinny from someone who knows what they're doing.  ;D

May I ask you a decide about Battleship [ShdwRcv] objects ?

[ShdwRcv] objects are used in IL-2 1946 as "Draw a black face for us seen, recieving upper objects'(like flying planes) shadows".
In example, Carrier ships have [ShdwRcv] on Deck.

I looked at 1946 default Battleships Hier.him, but [ShdwRcv] aren't prepaired.
Then, Battleships doesn't show us  upper objects' shadows on Deck.

Now I'm still thinking about my Battleship MOD, prepairing [ShdwRcv] or not.
If you have prepaired, I do, too. If not, I not, too. ;)

On Battleship's Deck, there is timeless overflying by planes than CVs...

I have only seen ShdwRcv meshes on carriers.
They may work on other ships as well but I have not experimented with this.
The more things like this you add then the more processing power is taken up.
Could be worth experimenting to see what sort of FPS loss is experienced.
