But I second what Malone says : would it be possible to have the randomizer working automatically each time we quit (or open) the game automatically ?

Looks like a great mod, but Mediafire says the file is "Invalid or Deleted".

OK, fixed it, this version has 125 Screens, Randomiser, Manual etc and is good for DBW, put into the #DBW instead of #UP3.0# folder.

Monty, Is this available on Mission4Today?  The reliability is much better and it is a good repository for your IL 2 work.  Just a thought!

I thought this idea was such a great idea, I had a thought about combining your application with some of the awesome screenies in the Share a Screen IL2.  You can view my post here  https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,27670.0.html.  Since it is your program/mod and your original idea, perhaps you would/should be the one to do this.

I followed the Installation-Instruction, but it don't works for me with Ultrapack 3.0...
I put this into the mentioned Structure, started the exe. and choosed one Screen...but what I see is the Default one...
Could someone please tell me how to install this correctly ?

I've been looking for a simple way of changing startup screens, randomly if possible. I haven't yet had much success finding anything simple ... maybe this one will be the winning ticket.

I see that this randomizer is predicated on having separate folders for each startup screen and that startup screens need to have the same name.

I was wondering if there isn't any method that randomizes the background0_ru.mat file by altering the one line that chooses which startup screen is chosen, namely this line:

TextureName background.tga

I choose different startup screens by simply changing the filename like this

TextureName background_Pacific_84.tga
or
TextureName background_Air_War_13.tga

etc etc ...

Since I have no knowledge whatsoever in programming, even simple things, I can't come up with anything that would randomize one line in the .mat file.
