Good morning folks,
Installed late last night over my SAS mod act 3.6/UP setup, loads impressively fast (again); First impressions, sheer amazement at the variety of aircraft, objects, maps, etc (having no prior acquaintance with the UP world). The QMPro bug reported earlier the relevant thread, some maps also donnot load at all (again in QMPro - EDIT: My mistake, I have no QMB missions set up for those, so they won't load). Wingflyr's textures for the kubelwagen would be a welcome addition. Still exploring... Many thanks to all of you wonderful people of the SAS and UP teams!!!! 8)

Mission_bug,

Where did you get a F6C4 Hawk from? I have seen this plane at the AAS site but it was for something called VSF. I didn't think it was compatible with IL-2.

Cheers,

Hello Riptide_One, I got it originally from Skipper's website before I realised it was here at SAS:

Pete,

I visit the SAS site nearly everyday. It's hard for me to believe I missed F6C4, but I did. Thank you very much, sir.

Pete,

If it is not too much trouble, could you make your skins for the F6C4 available from some other location. For unknown reasons, I can't download from some sites. 4share.com is one of those sites. Recently, I've been unable to download from mediafire too.  Gamefront and Filefront work well. Thanks.

Cheers,

He-60 CTD. :(

I bet if you searched for any duplicate classfiles between that mod, and the DBW XTD folder, you will find at least one. The delete that one in the mod. It used to be called an AAA-mine. Inlcude an incomplete or botched class in the mod that does not do anything unless it gets installed into UP (or DBW), then it crashes the game. :D But I am 100% sure that in this case it is just a slip up, if there is in fact such a class in there. Shit happens.

Hello Riptide, try this link:

http://www.gamefront.com/files/20450803/Skins+for+F6C4Hawk.zip

If that doesn't work for you send me your e.mail in a PM. ;)

Hello CirX, tried what you advised and found two files in the mod that were in the XTD folder:

C56FDB00EEF81EA6
7EFB94A245610CC6

It was the second that was causing the CTD, thank you very much for your help on that.  :)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Pete,

Thanks for the skins. Great work!

I installed the F6C4Hawk directory in \#DBW and added the "F6C4Hawk   air.F6C4Hawk 1      NOINFO  usa01 SUMMER" line to \#DBW\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini. The game crashes at 60% load.

According to the "5%, 60% & 70% crash Troubleshooters" post, there are three events in the game loading process:

1) the air.ini loads - I have revised the air.ini to include the F6C4. So, there should not be a problem here.
2) game locates the plane in the mod folder. I placed the \F6C4Hawk directory in the \#DBW directory. Also, I have confirmed that immediately below the \F6C4Hawk directory there are \3do and \gui directories, along with five files, each with a 16 alpha-numeric name. So, I don't see a problem here.
3) DBW comes with a flight model, so, the game should have no problems with here.

Also, I compared the file names in the F6C4 mod directory with that in the \XTD directory and found no duplicates.

Below are the only statements in the log file that mention an error:

[4:50:10]   INTERNAL ERROR: Str2FloatClamp() - Clamped 75 -> 32 (delta = -43) to Range 0..32
[4:50:10]   INTERNAL ERROR: Str2FloatClamp() - Clamped 120 -> 60 (delta = -60) to Range 0..60
[4:50:22]   null
[4:50:22]   java.lang.NullPointerException
[4:50:22]      at com.maddox.il2.ai.AirportCarrier.clsBigArrestorPlane(AirportCarrier.java:540)

If you, or anyone else, has some ideas about something else I can try to get the F6C4 to work, let me know.

Cheers,

Riptide

Hello Riptide, the version of the aircraft here is for 409, as I said my version came from Skippers site and is for 410 that is probably why you have CTD.

Here is the link that I used at Skippers site:

http://dispersalfield.ru/files/wine/F6C4Hawk_410.7z

I've just used the link to download it again to make sure it works, diabled my existing folder in DBW
and re-installed from the download and here ya go.

There is no need for a DiffFM mod to be added for this in DBW as there is already one
installed as part of the jet war pack.

I'll post this link in the original thread.

Hope this gets you sorted. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Pete,

That got it sorted. It's a fun plane to fly. I took off from Chiang Mai, buzzed the temple on the hill and did an air show over the city. Next on my agenda, carrier landings ... I've got to get my money's worth out of that hook on it's tail ;D.

Your skins look great on it. Thanks :)!

If I can get DBW running, anybody can.

I'm such an idiot.

Downloaded and added files.
Changed jsgmemods back.
CTD 70%
After thinking  (and picking my nose for a while), I realized that there were ini files in the #UP# folder. I added a (-) to disable it, and fired it up again.
Freeze at 95%

After thinking so hard, my hair started smoking, I started it again. ...Found it..!! In the start screen, I forgot to change the start up to DBW.

Everything loaded just fine, but when I went into the QMB, I found the old problem of the Aircraft names in a "Drop up" menu. I remembered the 4.09 fix for this, and added the same lines to my conf.ini, and it fixed it.

I'm probably going to only add a few mods, like the B-534R and the old Hawk81_RnB mod to my DBW.

Just one question.........Is anyone working on the old Ki-30/Ki-51 pack, to make it work with DBW??

Thanks, everyone, for DBW.

PS. the "reset" trick, works good in the QMB.
