I loaded DBW and everything seemed fine.  I flew a series of trials using both the QMB and FMB and all the tests worked good.

I then tried to load another airplane into DBW and I got a 70% failure on loading.  This same plane worked in UP3.0 just fine.  I then tried a series of planes that worked in UP3.0 and always got 70% failure.  I then deactivated the Air.ini entries and the new airplane folders in the #DBW# folder and it loaded normal again.

The planes I tried to load were the Hurricane MkII Hercules,  Early B-25s,  Vickers Wellington,  Fokker G.1 v2 uptd. 01/10/2011, and the Seversky P-35.  All these planes are working for me in UP3.0.

Am I doing something wrong or does DBW require a different technique for loading additional aircraft?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks .. TS

Sorry, I thought I'd give it a try and had a go at adding the Wellington to DBW - and it worked no problem.

Crazyflak,  Thanks for the response, I haven't added the DiffFm file and was wondering if I needed it ... I guess I don't.

redfox, what options are you using on the selector menu?

I'm using Dark  Blue World, Ram size 1200 MB, This selector exits with IL2, 6DoF/TrackIR enabled, 4 GB Address Space enabled, and Mod files Cache enabled.

The only JSGME options enabled are #DBW_Ecran Wide for 4.101 and #DBW_6dofTrackIR_ClassFiles.

I was wondering if this was the difference.

thanks ... TS

Hey tooslow- I've added the following AC successfully by just placing in the DBW folder with the standard file edits
B24D
Wellington III
DC3B
J7W1
RF-80
F80N
F8F
A20EX
B-25(the old flyable mod - without it one of the waist gunners is absent)
Ki-98
J4M1
So far so good...

read what gerax said, this is the problem. Using the cache is only recommended if you have a stable install you almost never change or add stuff to.

tooslow,

So far, I've added the Hawk F6C4 to DBW. It was simple. Add the directory with the plane mod to the \#DBW directory. Then add the required line for that plane (e.g. "F6C4Hawk          air.F6C4Hawk 1                        NOINFO  usa01 SUMMER") to the \#DBW\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini file. Because the F6C4 was of American origin, I put the line for this plane under the "*********USA" banner in the air.ini file, immediately above the line for the F6F-3_Early.

Cheers,

Riptide

Thanks for all the responses.   It's a relief to know that this problem is unique to my setup and not a major glitch with DBW.  I'm glad to hear that others have successfully added aircraft to DBW.

It appears that my problem can be solved by disabling the "Mod files cache" and deleting the ~wrapper.cache.

Gerax & CirX thank you for setting me straight about the purpose of the mod files cache.

I'll report back tomorrow after give these changes a try.

Thanks again ... TS

Everything works again!!!

My problem was solved by disabling the "Mod files cache" and deleting the ~wrapper.cache file in the #DBW folder

I successfully installed and have flown the Hurricane MkII Hercules,  Early B-25s,  Vickers Wellington,  Fokker G.1 v2 uptd. 01/10/2011, and the Seversky P-35 using the QMB.

I appreciate the quick reply's and quick identification of my problem, thanks to all and thanks especially to Gerax & CirX.

Even tho this isn't the subject, your information on your selector set up really helped me big time. Forever I could not get my trackIR to work at all. Seems it was this silly cache thing in the selector i checked. Only problem i have now is gettting campaigns to run. lol.

I've been trying to install the CA-311 for days and haven't been able to pass the 70% point. Where should I install the 311 folders and air.ini. Help would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas?
