Twister

Is there a possibility you could add a smooth scrolling pan view function to this at all please?

There was a program for il-2 called newview which amongst other things let you do this.

What i mean is when in any default cockpit view, when using the hat switch to pan the view around, it changes in 'quadrants'. For example if you are looking straight ahead, one click to the left gives you 45 degree, two clicks 90 degree and so on.

Just in case anyone mentions it i have tried snap/pan (default key F9)

To see what i mean, look around using your hat switch then try with the mouse, it is much smoother with the mouse, with no 'jumps'. This is not to much of a problem in zoomed out view, but is very disorientating in zoomed in view.

Thanks for any help

regards

Slipper, have you tried JoyToKey? I use it with my FFB2. You can assign your hat to emulate the mouse. Works brilliantly for looking around!. Can't live without it in fact.

Twister

Just to let you know,  DBW 1.3 introduces some new control assignments, like bomb bay doors and such. When running your mod POV_padlock_hotkeys, overwrited the DBW 1.3 controls and leaves the default assignments.

cheers

it absolutely suits the way i like to play this sim, fantastic work, Twister! 8)
as i use it more, i will come up for ideas for refinements, maybe - for now i am loving it! ;D ;D

Twister, i don't know if it's your mod or not - i rather suspect it is something to do with the stock 4.101 game -
i have different axis/controls set up for zooming/FOV purposes, and they all work well -except when i select autopilot - at this point, i lose control over zooming axis...which is a pity, because when i am flying on autopilot, this is when i want to take time to have a good look around.
i can still use FOV change button, but i have it set up so that the 'zoom-scroll' is easiest to use.
is there any way to maintain this zooming ability while on autopilot?

and last thing - there was always a very limited ability to padlock nearby ships.
this seems to be a major problem to adjust, even for TD, apparently.
something to do with the way the game interprets ships....
in my current DBW install, there is now absolutely no padlock ability for ships.
none at all..... :(
any chance of looking into this, and letting me be able to padlock a ship from 50km's away, at least?  ;D 8)

What makes U doubt - my sense of humour ? 8)

Game engine considers zoom as any other AC control axis, and takes it from player when autopilot engaged. I don't see any solutions within the framework of PilotHook & AircraftHotKeys classes for now.

I realized, game even fails to detect, if ship is on player's line of sight or not. I think, the root of padlock problem is somewhere close. I'll see, what I can do.

Sorry to report that this is incompatible with SAS AI hotkeys mod and thus with DBW 1.71 :(

When the AI mod is enabled, the features of this mod are disabled, but there is no crash. Very sad about this, I really liked this mod, the view system, the stabilizer etc...

Maybe one day it will be compatible again.

Just wanted to tell. Cheers
