Good day,
currently installing my AMD 6870. Following this thread and my experience, I store 4 drivers on my HD, if anyone could advise me the most clever one to choose, I'd be happy to hear:
The 10-9 driver-worked flawlsessly with all sims with my Ati 5770.
The 11.11 driver
The 11.11b driver
The 11.5 driver

My first guess would be start with either the 11.5 or the proven 10.9 driver.
System is XP Prof 32 Bit.
Thanks! Reason for asking is there seem to be more than 1 ways do choose this + I'm not sure if the 6870 will run with the rock solid 10.9 version.

OK, went for the 11.5 driver and that one works. Next checking 11.11b driver.
So far the color tone of the 10-9 driver is definately better. I think that temperature being off started with the 10.10 driver.

OK, AMD HD 6780, Win XP 32 Bit.
Tried all drivers-no joy. Artefacts around water and when changing views. Initially all good, after system restart with 11.11b driver crap started-thgen went on.
Will try some of the here offered conf.ini suggestions and tricks.
Could someone please upload the atioglxx-11.4-xp.zip file for Win XP?
Thanks..otherwise...not too impressed, IMo HD 5XXX gen AA looked better. FPS far better, but no joy.
So one mored ay testing then back to sender with this crap card.

Well bud, I had no luck with any driver. I tried all tips of this forum and now I'll give the complete 11.4 driver a go as last chance exit. The file mentioned above only led to a white loading screen and fubar slow UIs.

Cheers, me thinks if I ever by another Ati, it's gonna be either an HD5850/70 or the next gen.

Cool. Sad this comes too late for me. I was so frustrated, sent my card back. Good Luck for the other chaps.
TBH my Asus HD5770 with 10.9 driver gave me a much better image than the Sapphire HD 6870 with any 11.xx driver. Each to his own, I guess. Will buy one of the high end 5xxx cards some day.
Given my priority of sims atm, should have opted for the NVidia GTX460/70 anyway.

Tried playing without the atioglxx.dll and it is actually worse than 11.11 flickering rivers, blocky sand where there should not be sand etc. I officially give up on AMD and any new drivers - go the green !!!!
