This is one of the forgotten planes that I'd love to see in the game.

In terms of performance, it probably wouldn't have been that great a plane, but if the Polish AF had been equipped with PZL P.50 (or better yet, the P.56) in quantity, the Invasion of Poland would have been much tougher for the Germans. Certainly, the Stukas would have fared badly, and possibly the Bf-110, possibly making the Luftwaffe reevaluate the usefulness of those types a year before the Battle of Britain.

The only problem is that there's very little information about the P.50, so it would be a difficult modeling project. For example, there are no cockpit views that I've been able to find and virtually no performance data. The photos and drawings listed above are about as good as it gets for reference material.

That's not to say that it would be impossible to model. The P.50 did fly, so there are some surviving test pilot reports and performance data. There are pictures of the plane in a partially disassembled state so it would be easy to end caps and damage textures. And, the engine it used (and proposed engines for the P.50B version) was used in a number of other planes.

I think we need first PZL P.7, P.11a and 11g for Polish air force (may be P.24 for Romania/Greece/Bulgaria)... Of course this PZL P-50 is nice plane, but Il2 need first real, used planes in ww2. But every new bird is welcome :-)

Hmmmm..... just a thought, but- how about a Frankenplane using the Re.2000 as a basis, with LaGG-3 canopy and PZL P.11 tail assy????? Don't know whether it's feasible though. Might be a better mix-'n-match possible as well.

The PZL P.24 existed as a mod, but it didn't work well with other mods so it was mostly abandoned. I'd love to see someone try to rework it. The P.11f already exists as a mod, so it wouldn't be that hard to model the various other P.11 variants. The P.7 would have to be its own project.
