Thanks brat, that was a good pointer. The 'fix' works for 'DBW' but not for 'UP'. Reading the post about the fix I saw that the sample files for the prop and the fan were the issue so I went into Jiver's UP sound mod in the JSGME folder, found the samples and deactivated them by placing a ; at the beginning.

I now have the sound mod working fine in both 'UP' and 'DBW'. Thanks for your mod, the help and the support Jiver.

Sid and Santobr. Perhaps these sounds are the prop and fan sounds that Jiver has a fix for on page 3 of this topic.
Thank you! I think this is what we are looking for! :)

Please, take a look at the class files in your mod because I noticed that they are touching in the tracer's colors.
Enabling your awesome mod, makes random tracer's colors on LA-5FN plane.
Maybe other planes are affected too.
Hi Jiver.
I disabled all classfiles and this glitch was gone.
The sounds are working good, but I don't know if something changes without the classfiles.
Could you please test it?
Just flight a QMB mission with a LA-5FN in UP3 and you will see tracers of all colors.

Thank you very much.

hi Jiver what's about "infinite 1" error fix stated some post above? do you think it is possible to repair it?

And another question: with HFSX 5.01 mod activated (solo) in-cockpit I can hear enemy sound engine/firing incoming from front/rear even if it is a subtile fx sound, BUT With your (great) soundmod activated this sound is quite totally missed. I know it is a "matter of taste" to have or not this external sound more (or less loud) but I wish to have the chance to have the same as HFSX both with your mod activated, so I ask could you suggest what preset/samples I will have to manage to have this external enemy/friendly engine (and firing) sound more loud or at least as HFSX one? thank you for the attention. cheers

Ah, it is the fan sounds that you guys are referring to! This is not a bug in my mod...I designed it this way. It seems quite a few of you dislike the fan sounds. As brat stated, I posted a fix for this on page 3. Thanks brat!

Hi santobr,

If you delete the classfiles you will also be deleting many of the custom gun classes in the mod. This will not cause any problems per se, but will prevent you from hearing many of the gun sounds as I intended.

Sure, just drop the following file into your "MODS\9_JTSM_v2.0\presets\sounds" folder:

https://www.mediafire.com/?0iceqg9tcr77c97

I still need to post an official fix for this for all versions of my sound mod.  :-)

Again, this is also by design. In my opinion the distant engine and gun sounds both in the stock game (and especially in HSFX) were much too loud. Realistically speaking, you would not be able to hear the engine and guns of an enemy (or friendly) plane from within the cockpit with your engine running.

I'm not going to change this in my mod, but what you can try doing is increase the "spl" value of all the engine and gun presets. For the engine presets you could try increasing the "spl" by a factor of 5 or so. Likewise for the gun and cannon sound presets. For example, looking at the "motor.M-82.prs" preset, you would change "[spl] 110" to "[spl] 115". You would do the same for all the gun and cannon sounds as well.

thank you for the prompt reply and thank for the fix of "infinite_1". speaking about the second phase of my request (external sounds) as I stated I know there are people who think "full realism=almost no external sounds..) but I don't think a 10 meters aircraft egine or firing gun wouldn't heard at all.. But again THAT'S Just may be MY personal Opinion.. just I prefer to have these "fx" sound in my game. Thank for explanation to increase all engine and guns "spl" but may be so EVEN my random flying plane will suffer of this increase of sound >>internal noise (?) so to the end we annhillate the external more sound gain (?)  I think a better solution may be (if possible) to Decrease just cockpit occlusion parameters (?).. if there is this "spl"  feature..

X-Raptor,

Using the UP 3.0 version of my mod I can hear an enemy (or friendly) plane's engine from inside the cockpit when it is very close to me (say within 50 meters or so). Are you saying that you cannot hear the same in HSFX?

negative, with HFSX I (think) I hear like with UP3 (because I don't use this version of modpack), but with STANDARD sound of HFSX I can clearlu hear engine sound out.. the "problem" is only if i switch on your mod, no more external sounds of other engines/firing (or I think the're very low. my suggestion was to decrease only "in-cockpit occlusion parameter" --may be possible? so to not ot change all engines/guns sounds of your mod

Yes, after doing some more testing I have found that the UP 3.0 and HSFX versions of my mod sound different (even though they contain the exact same files). This leads me to believe that HSFX 5.0 incorporates other sound modifications above and beyond what my mod does. Unfortunately I do not have the time to research this.

As to changing the occlusion values, you can try modifying the acoustic presets located in "MODS\9_JTSM_v2.0\presets\sounds\acoustics". Specifically, you will want to experiment with the presets that have an environment number of 8: "bf109.prs", "he111.prs", "il2.prs", and "p39.prs". Try playing with the occlusion values listed under the "[common]" section. Other than this, I don't know what else to tell you.

Forgive me please, but did you tested the tracers of LA-5FN? :)
Will you make a fix for that?

Thank you.

santobr,

I think I found an easy fix for this issue. Open the folder "#UP#\9_JTSM_v2.0" and delete the class file "2735B1CA75C7B402". This should do the trick.

On second thought, the best way to do this is to disable Jiver's Total Sound Mod via JSGME, and then open the "jsgmemods\#UP_Jiver's Total Sound Mod v2.0\#UP#\9_JTSM_v2.0" folder and delete the class file "2735B1CA75C7B402". Then reenable JTSM via JSGME.
