Jiver ,

Trully amazing stuff! To my ears , the MG and Cannon sounds seem loud as compared to engine sounds. Is there anyway to lower those sounds. I have a Creative X-Fi Gamer card and I'm using Zalman 5.1 headphones. I have read the config guide and set my system accordingly. Thanks again for your contribution and look forward to your advice.

Ribs,

Yes, the gun and cannon sounds are intentionally loud so that you can hear them over the engine sounds. If you are using a good pair of HD headphones I can understand why you might think the sounds are a bit overbearing. The best way to change this is to edit the gun and cannon sounds using a sound editor and reduce the volume to a level that is to your liking. Goldwave and Creative Wave Studio are a couple of editors that come to mind and are easy to use.

I think I found an easy fix for this issue. Open the folder "#UP#\9_JTSM_v2.0" and delete the class file "2735B1CA75C7B402". This should do the trick.
Thank you, Jiver. :D
It's fixed now. ;D

Cheers. :)

Forgive me please, but did you tested the tracers of LA-5FN? :)
Will you make a fix for that?

On second thought, the best way to do this is to disable Jiver's Total Sound Mod via JSGME, and then open the "jsgmemods\#UP_Jiver's Total Sound Mod v2.0\#UP#\9_JTSM_v2.0" folder and delete the class file "2735B1CA75C7B402". Then reenable JTSM via JSGME.
thank you for your wonderful work!

This trick is also valid for version 4.09?
Tks !

Epervier,

Thanks, and yes, this is also valid for the 4.09 version of my mod.

Thanks for this mod !
But I agree with this point :
Hi Jiver. :)

The issue is like a mix of old buzz sounds with the new sounds at the same time, it's only externally.

I installed your sound mod into HSFX .
At external view, there is a background engine sound thet sounds like a mower . Could you please remove this mower background sound ? Unless that , your mod will be really great ! :)
( external views have some importance for me , because I create iL-2 movies  :) )

Here you go: :)
brat,

I created a small update which removes propeller sounds for all planes in the game. I disabled both the propeller sounds and the fan sound. This was done by simply placing a ";" in front of the sample names in the preset fiiles. You can experiment with this yourself if you like. Anyway, to install the update, just decompress the following archive into your "DBW" folder.

Draken,

Glad you are enjoying the sounds. As opposed to removing the propeller sounds entirely (as my previous fix does) another thing you might try is changing the following values...

in "propeller.middle.prs":

[sample.prop17_81_3.wav.rpm]
minlo 1000
minhi 1500
maxlo 2500
maxhi 3000
value 15.0
pmin  0.6
pmax  1.8

[sample.prop17_81_5.wav.rpm]
minlo 2500
minhi 3000
maxlo 5000
maxhi 5500
value 15.0
pmin  0.9
pmax  1.8

[sample.fan_09.wav.rpm]
minlo 300
minhi 500
maxlo 1300
maxhi 2000
value 3.0
pmin  0.4
pmax  1.25

in "propeller.small.prs":

[sample.prop17_81_3.wav.rpm]
minlo 1000
minhi 1500
maxlo 2500
maxhi 3000
value 10.0
pmin  0.6
pmax  1.8

[sample.prop17_81_5.wav.rpm]
minlo 2500
minhi 3000
maxlo 5000
maxhi 5500
value 10.0
pmin  0.9
pmax  1.8

[sample.fan_09.wav.rpm]
minlo 300
minhi 500
maxlo 1300
maxhi 2000
value 4.0
pmin  0.4
pmax  1.25

These changes reduce the "lawn mower" sound considerably without completely removing the sound of the propellers. Having a slight drone gives the engine sounds some "flavor" and especially enhances the sounds of several of the multi-engine planes.

I'm working on a second hotfix which will incorporate this change as well as other small sound fixes.
