Hi guys
I'm putting this placeholder here - over the weekend (time still to be confirmed) i am going to be going through the installation process in a sort of 'live' tutorial type of thing.
i've been approached by one or two members who need a hand with this process, and so i am going to be going through it, step by step, in this thread.
Any members who would like to join in are welcome. I'll be available for most of the day to answer any questions, and to help any participants who might need it.
very experimental, i hope at least one or two members will be able to learn a bit about the process during this session.
So - if you are unsure as to the exact procedure, be sure to check in on this thread on Saturday. 

to confirm: we  (i)   will be on hand in the thread for a 10-hour period, from 12h00 GMT Saturday, to go through the process, and hopefully answer any queries anyone might have.
i'll have a few beers on hand at some point, so try and ask any questions earlier in the session, for more coherent answers, lol....

I had a problem. After installing DBW, it showed up as an option executabble selector, but would not start. I couldn't even see a 5% ctd. I know I was unsure about the directions to get rid of all the il2fb.exe files in the jsgme folder. What I did was to unselect all the jsgme files. Then I searched the jsgme folder and deleted the several .exe files that were associated with #UP.# The next instruction which was unsure about was the new il2fb.exe file that went in the game folder. If I remember correctly, when I installed the DWB folders (all were there) I think the old exe file had disappeared.
After the initial failure to start, I tried various combinations of the DBW files in jsgme. I disabled all the UP files in jsgme, etc.
The installation steps I took were as follows.
1. Vanilla copy of 409m built up step by step to UP_3ORC3. Checked jsgme files for UP.exe files and deleted.
Downloaded and installed -DBW_BUILD_1.0.7z which all components showed up in the game folder(does the"-" mean it's disabled?).
After a day trying various ways to start DBW, I deleted and rebuilt 2 copies of UP3.
Any ideas?

okay - jlan, you are missing the point of this thread, and jumping the gun a bit.
this thread is for assistance for guys doing an install from scratch, and i am going to go through the process with those who need help, on Saturday - in a live session. the thread is not actually for posting problems in beforehand, you are just going to confuse others more.
please, leave this question for when the session is in progress, or alternatively make a separate thread for it in Tech Help.
during the session, we will be going through the install process step by step, and i will then assist guys who are unsure about a certain step, as we get to it.

lolz.... ....okay, here i am this morning, high as a kite on painkillers, after i developed a nasty abscess in a place where the sun don't shine.....i've been booked in for surgery by a specialist a few weeks from now, and until then they've given me some pretty kickass pills... ...
i think, under the circumstances, and also because an updated patch for DBW 1.2 is due to be released later today, that it might be better to leave this install session for tomorrow (sunday) so we can do the latest updated install.....i'll no doubt be babbling around online during the day, so if anyone has questions on the process so long, feel free to ask - i'll try and answer sensibly, lol....

update: this whole thing will have to be put on hold while i struggle with some serious connectivity issues.
sorry, tater, and others who might have wanted to join in - i can't make any promises until i get thes problems sorted out.
my advice in the meantime is to just go ahead yourselves, following the install guides carefully, and ask if you're unsure about anything (Tech Help)
