HELP !! addons
« on: July 08, 2011, 09:28:49 PM »

No matter what I do, I CANNOT get ANY added planes to go in #SAS folder nor #DBW folder.Seeing as These are where we put our stuff, do they go in JUST that folder or inside the STD folder ?(I have tried both)I even made a "mods" folder inside the both to check.
I unzip plane, take out the plane folder from the unzippered folder,(because there is always one folder inside the other) ADD to the letter, copy/paste in the air ini as given by download, Also placed in the latest buttons to Both STD's #SAS folder & #DBW's.-(this being offline button)
activator = expert + mod cache , tried both DBW and ModAct3 get CTD at 60 and 70%.
removed planes and air ini referals and game will load. The planes in particular are the Schmitfire and the Tractor and the Navy P51. like I said,I copied and pasted exactly as instructed. placed planes into #SAS folder & #DBW's
which are sitting in Main Game folder and NOT in the JSGME folder.
ANY clues at all would be Greatly appreciated as I dire to get some extra carrier type planes in my game again
regards

Sharkzz,
regarding folders structure, #DBW is EXACTLY the same as the former MODS. It means: you have to put inside there folders (they must be folders) containing classes (those files with a lot of numbers as filename) and 3do folder. If you had (just to say something) the MOD of the He-219UhuV5, you have to put that folder that inside has the classes and the 3do into #DBW.

If you activate with the selector the DBW and you have copied all the stuff of the pack, it should work.

  Hope it helps.

Untick "enable mode file cache"

Go to DBW folder remove ~ wrapper.cache

then your good to go.

Cheers,

T_T.

PS got caught with that myself  :D

Sharkzz,

Surely, I can understand a fellow player of this game wanting more carrier planes. However, I have not tried installing any of the planes you mentioned. In DBW, the mod plane directory should be placed in the \#DBW directory. Then add the required line in \#DBW\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\Air.ini. If the plane is compatible with IL-2 4.10.1, it should work. In my case, this worked for the Autogyro, D510, D570 and F6C4 Hawk. Are you sure the planes you want to install are compatible with 4.10.1?

Cheers,

Riptide

g'day all and thanks , I usually have no probs with mods and understand the folders Beni(thanks), Toasty-ahh rgr thnks was reading that you needed to activate mod folder cache  in expert for it to read the mods-missunderstood- and rgr i keep deleting the wrapper caches,ty, Rip - hmm pretty sure as they have the 4.10+ etc but deffinately not (i better check so i don't have to eat my words LOL) 4.09- and #DBW etc sits in main game folder, not in JSGME rgr, and rgr i do the air ini's, will have to have closer look at the offered mods to make sure they say 4.101 friendly. Thanks again friends !  ;D, I have to laugh, it's all came a long way in these past months and was cluey with my cluttered ole full JSGME and adding the mods the old way. I shall never rest till i get it sorted ! cause i can't get to sleep until i have beaten it LOL.
all been a great help.

~S~ Again, _Rip m8 spot on with version agreeable mods, just my luck, dang nabbit, close reading showed that "if not marked assume 4.09 only" LOL grrr and so it was, all three un marked so i can assume non 4.101 friendly doh ::), hope they udate the sea pony for 4.101, and the scmit-fire, I liked those as they were actual real trial planes and not what iff's. dunno bout the Tractor though, never heard of that on before.
To all thanks again . i can get some sleep now, after i give the auto gyro a try LOL.
cheers

I hereby lay claim to the dubious fame of being of the first one to do this and so suffering the pain...

Of course, I then remembered to disable it when I put the bloody DiffFM file in...  ::)
