Junkers Ju-390 V1
« Reply #48 on: July 24, 2015, 12:00:29 AM »

Hello, everyone.

This is my first request for an aircraft. What I request for now would be the Junkers Ju-390 V1. Below are two pictures that I took, from Marek Ry?' German Air Projects: 1935-1945: Vol. 3: Bombers (2007):

I can tell you two things. According to Marek Ry?' German Air Projects: 1935-1945: Vol. 3: Bombers (2007), only two were constructed out of the "three prototypes [that] were ordered," and "the third prototype was going to be... armed with eight 20mm MG 151/20 cannon and four 13mm MG 131 machine guns."

Now, the following specifications are also taken from the same book.
Code: [Select]
Wingspan: 165.09 ft (50.32 m)
Length: 109.58 ft (33.40 m)
Height: 20.01 ft (6.10 m)
Wing area: 2,737.35 ft (254.30 square meters)
Empty weight: 79,168 lb (35,910 kg)
Max Take-off weight: 166,449 lb (75,500 kg)
Powerplant: 6x BMW 801E engine, 1,970 hp (1,469 kW) each
Top speed: 294 mph (473 km/h)
Ceiling: 29,200 ft (8,900 m)
Range: 3,727 to 7,456 miles (6,000 to 12,000 km)

I do not know if I can list the variants for this aircraft in a code, so I am sorry. I also do not know if this aircraft was already requested, and I apologize to the user that might have already made a request like this. Thank you for your time.

Two prototypes and a few production examples of the 390 appeared, from 1943. The production mostly covered the Ju-390B, having eight MG 131's and six MG 151's, but it saw very little combat service.

Hope some of this helps as I would love to see this in game.

Sincerely,

PvF/James

I also do not know if this aircraft was already requested

it was requested before here.
I merge this topic now with the existing.

Next time use the "Google Custom search" line below, it brings hits for SAS only.  ;)

+1 Very interesting design, sometimes I'm amazed at how technically advanced were planes of that period.
