Nationalist and Republican Spain folders
« on: July 28, 2011, 01:13:18 PM »

UP3/RC3 DBW 1.4 ForgottenCountriesFull enabled

Please could somebody point me at some example folders to enable me to run the various excellent SCW missions/campaigns posted elsewhere on the site? I have created ES, ER and EN folders but I'm sure there's a whole lot more to it than that...

You don't need UP3/RC3 DBW 1.4 ForgottenCountriesFull enabled to get Republican & Nationalist Spain available. The Forgotten Countries "Lite" that is built in DBW carries them. Just don't enable "No Forgotten Countries"
Setting them up in single mission is different than in Campaign missions. The folders need all the info that the other country folders have.  I'll try to look at my set up, later tonight.
Can't remember which codes go with which countries, offhand. I believe that ES is one of them.

Here is some more info.
First step, go to the M4T site and download all the Spanish Campaigns you can find. Also check here.
In your single missions folder (along with the other countries), add a folder "ES" (Republican Spain), and a folder
"SP" ( Nationalist Spain). Go to any other country folder and copy the file "background.mat". Paste this file into both
the new "ES" and "SP" folders. Next, you need to find a "background.tga" for the "ES" and the "SP" folders.
Some of the campaigns that I mentioned at the top have tga's that you can use.
Next you should look on M4T for music for both sides, that you can put in a new "samples/music/Menu/ES" and
"samples/music/Menu/SP" folders.. The last step is the hardest. You need at find a Spanish speech pack to put into a
new "samples/Speech/ES" and "samples/Speech/SP" folders that you must create.  This is a hard step because I
can't find a location to download a Spanish speech pack. If I knew how to up-load mine, I'd do it, but I have no knowledge
on how to do this. It would be nice if somebody would put a Tutorial  in the Tutorial section on how to do this.
Finally, create some aitcraft folders in each country and start using the FMB to make missions for these aircraft.

Maybe somebody else will upload their Spanish Speech pack, or knows where you could download one.
PS. I use the same speech pack for both Republican and Nationalist Spain.
I wish I could explain this better, but my computer knowledge is rather limited.

"EDIT: ah, it is not there and I dunno where I took it from, so I'll repost it in Sound/speech section in a minute."

Great, I'm sure that there are many people who could use this. There are also many Spanish Campaigns out there. One of them had all the folders that are needed to set them up in the "missions/campaign" folder. The ideal thing would be a complete download with all the files to set up not only speech, but music and tga's for singles mission AND campaigns.

It's a good thing that I am a pack rat, and never throw anything away.
(I've even saved an update for the original IL2, so you could fly the Ju87b)
