 hi HundertzehnGustav,
why a Grumman Duck? It's not realistic, they only served aboard the Saratoga and just for a short time in mid 'thirties. They spent their war-time as land-based aircraft.
In 1941 and onwards, most part of battleships and cruisers were still equipped with Curtiss Seagull, the Vought Kingfisher started to be supplied to the observation units in late 1939.

I know, I'm a pedantic and perfectionist old fart, forgive me ;)

nooo, gianni. pedantic is all right, i am guilty of being pedantic sometimes as well. Its perfectly okay. :)

I was thinking of the Grumman duck, because it was the first thing that came to my mind when i saw that catapult.

I don't know much about the ships you do, to be honest.
now, i took the time to look up a bit about that Kingfisher... and to my surprise... its not such a baaaad plane? Okay, weak engine, heavy floaters... no firepower... but she had a really interesting service life.
That story of the 10 men rescued to a submarine is awesome!

I love Catapults... and being shot off them in a plane.

Fantastic to see these , Gofo, and a nice surprise treat by Puma as well. Lovely old workhorse the Kingfisher.

They should come out as a matched set.

hi all, good day,
it took me longer than I tought, but finally the LoD0 is finished. Had it not been not for the Ashe's tips, suggestion and advice I was still wondering how to....

Now, the Colorado and Tennessee-class are ready for being exported into Il-2. In a short time, more or less, I'll start all others steps for completing the job.
Puma, your Kingfisher will be a perfect companion for the Big 5. WTG, a good work!

my regards

Gianni

P.S. Regarding the cage-masts, they look too "glassy"? Let me know your opinion

The appearance of the textures, including the cage mast, will be slightly different in the game compared with how it looks in Max. My first impression is that the mesh of the cage masts looks a little too closely spaced, but I have not studied these in much detail. When you are ready we can look at doing a trial export of the LOD0 into the game format. It looks ready for that to me.
