« on: August 17, 2011, 01:56:21 PM »

I like a single stack destroyers and make this MOD for empty a hole in USN DD line with a class of pre war destroyers, the SIMS the last USN single stack DD class.
For see the ships http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=lastup&cat=23485&pos=0.

With WESTERN221 help, now ours have this ship in own slot and new version for post/43 AAA improvement
WESTERN221 adding improvement in the model and floating flag mod and his ShipExtention MOD improvement (very very cool MOD),the others url is erased.

Now I rewrite .ini to ships.ini format.
Then a question.

In ja.wikipedia , Sims's armament written as this:
1939 build and fast-reform(less Top Heavy): 38/5inch main cannon x5 , 12.7mm AA gun x4 , torpedo x2
1943: 38/5inch main cannon x4 , 40mmX2 AA gun x2, 20mm AA gun x4 , torpedo x2

which era GIO think?
If 1943, needs 40mm Bofors X2 add 2.
At default USSFletcherDD has this 40mm Bofors X2 , I feel rent .msh from this.
In ships.ini this armament is gun_BfrsUS40x2.

Western0221:

I looked up the Sims Class and 7 of them survived the war. I could paint all 12 of these for the USN and this would give the ones that made it up to 1942-43.

I looked through the folder at the .tga files but can't see anything to use to paint these things - just what looks like lines except for skin1 through skin4 but obviously these aren't the skins you're using.

I feel they'd be a nifty little addition.

good day to all,
thanks for your new boat western0221, but let me say that, IMHO, the Sims would deserve a more realistic looking.
Colours of the modified MS12 you applied are too bright. Give a look at the following palette

Deck and all horizontal surfaces must be Deck Blue (20B); for the vertical ones, if their surface is mainly Ocean Gray (5-O) or Haze Gray (5-H) splotches are Sea Blue (more or less equivalent to Navy Blue 5-N) and viceversa. All colours had a low reflectance and specular gloss.
Your vessel will appreciate the new dress, believe me ;).

No, No, this Sims class is gio's excellent work 3D and skin.

I help a bit him, making class files, ini files to indivisual new slot.
Now I'm sending gio class files and ini files, after his cheking, will release new slot version.
