Ok, I did run the full campaign and everything  works beautifully except for mission 3 and 4 ( Spawning problem ). The missions have a very immersive feeling, the map is a beauty and the massive bomber formations and fighter escorts really give you the feeling of what these pilots had to endure. I'm running HSFX 5.01.
Keep the good work we really need more campaigns like this.

Am on mission thirteen of this great campaign and can count 10 bomber kills  ;D It is really great, am not flying the Fw 190 so much (don't like stall planes  >:( ). The only difficulty i personnally have with it is that I'm not flight leader, I hate that  >:( I am not even able to keep a 500 meter distance formation  :P so i always go the way I want to (always getting harsh words from "Herr Major Wutz  :P). But i like it ! Thanks a lot Poltava !

Thank you for this excellent campaign Poltava. I became an ace in a single mission, mission 2.I Shot down 1 Spitfire and 4 Typhoon's, after a long knock down drag out fight between the 2 air forces. Running DBW version 1.6 it's runnin like a well oiled machine. I disable subtitles and voices to help keep my FPS smooth as I prefer eye candy over ear candy.
The map is amazing. Finally no more or very few of those horrid  looking "Zig Zag" roads/railroads.

After that second mission I now know why the FW190 was called the Butcher Bird........

Keep up the good work Sir

Quote
"So far, the two German fighter Geschwader had been fully capables to keep the Axis' air superiority over Northern France and to beat up the RAF"
Poltava I think you're stretching it a bit here - if this was the case why had the Luftwaffe abandoned its bases nearest the enemy it was supreme too? Advancing backwards maybe? Come on mate if you get yourself "2nd Tactical AF Vol 1. 1943" by extremely well respected aviation historian (globally with no bias to either side), you'll read very detailed and extremely heavily researched loss reports for both the RAF and Luftwaffe over N France in 1943. I see no evidence there of the Luftwaffe beating the RAF, rather of an airforce in decline and unable to intercept frequent RAF incursions unless the situation gave them a distinct tactical advantage, or bombers threatened their own bases of operation. Of course they still had successes, but this is not quite the same thing. The truth was that for most of the time the RAF went about its business of dismantling German infrastructure over N France during daylight hours with medium bombers, fighter-bombers and fighters - hardly the sign of the defenders having air supremacy! Of course German unit diaries written at the time might give the impression that they were winning - it's called propoganda!

Regards the P-47; it held no fears for the Luftwaffe daylight fighter force when met in straight fighter v fighter combat, both 1943 variants of the Bf-109G and Fw-190A could handle it with ease when met on equal terms with equal pilot skills (rarer by late 1943), how the P-47's really scored was as escort fighters in situations when the Luftwaffe was targeting the heavies - not the escorts, hence leaving themselves open to counter-attack from top cover whilst concentrating on the B-17's and B-24's, often those Bf-109's and Fw-190's were laden down with extra equipment and unable to defend against the escorts too.

There seems to be a lot of revisionist history going on at the moment and I felt I had to post on this subject to try and put the record straight in a small way. Unfortunately copious posts like this on the internet are slowly but surely disposing of the facts in favour of popular opinion, which is sad especially when you had relatives who actually fought in some of those battles and know the truth, it's kind of changing history to suit personal preferances. Sad really.

I have made an update of this campaign, for modded 4.12 (HSFX 7 or TFM 412), with ground taxi and all the other new goodies! There is an alternate download link on post one and here. The updated version will soon be posted on mission4today. Stay tuned. More info is coming!  :)

Alternate download for new 4.12 version here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=30238896641516631233

[Update] Post #1 updated with info and new D/L links. Enjoy! This is one of my own personal favourites!  :)

I too am having a problem in that my planes and those of my flight explode on the ground.

looking into the log file..I see that a couple of chunks are missing being Head1_D1 and AFN2_RED
My install is the full TFM 412 with all the patches applied

I tried using the old campaign version supplied and that worked but still showed AFN2_RED as missing.
I looked into Claymore 190 folder and found the A5 had (Beta) in its folder name

is it possible to fix this ? I found the files I need but can't see where to put them

Yep, I'm with you nzmigman. I get the same error message in fully patched TFM 412, can't find 'AFN2_RED' and 'Head1_D1'. Time for a bit of investigating, or hopefully somebody has already solved the problem. In the meantime, the campaign runs OK in HSFX 7.0.3.

The problem is that some of the AI planes are parked under camouflage nets which are too small to accommodate the aircraft, thus causing the planes to explode on the ground. The solution is to go into FMB and open the first mission in the campaigns/de/abbeville boys. Either move the parked planes on the map, outside of the camo nets, or replace with a larger net (object no.2626). Also be aware, some other objects, such as boxes or parked vehicles, may also be too close to the aircraft.

You will probably have to inspect the other missions in a similar fashion and correct and all should run fine. This campaign ran perfectly well for me in TFM412 and C.U.P. after I made the adjustments.

Hey, thanks for that bergkamp, that is some fantastic sleuthing! I replaced the camo net with the larger one (#2626) and moved the boxes, drums etc a bit further way from the aircraft, and it worked in TFM412! Fantastic, now to do a remove and replace with the other missions and try in CUP. BTW- if it is not to much hassle - how did you figure out that this was the problem, I am interested in improving my (almost non-existent) trouble shooting skills.
