One problem i have with this beautiful bird is when i crash when shot down my game CTDS I don't know if this is an installation issue but it only happens with the P-47N

Sometimes having too many planes lead to this...I installed this great mod loooong time ago (tested in a clean 4.09 with UP2.01), and apparently all works fine. But only recently I used this plane in combat missions, et voilĂ ! found a great bug: apparently hitting/damaging the plane cause a memory error and crash to desktop. Tried many tests on a clean UP2.01 4.09 installation (so no conflicts with other mods possible, except UP 2.01 or 4.09...), and, if this can help, I can say that this kind of problem (crash to desktop after hitting/damaging plane) is quite frequent in 4.101 planes converted to 4.09. Maybe there's something to convert in classfiles in addition to FM conversion? I'll do some other test (and I hope someone will do too) and I'll post my logfile. As you can see in the post I quoted, maybe I'm not the one with this problem. Can anyone using this plane confirm this bug, or can you test (not only flying but also hitting the plane)? As I can see, by now this mod it's not 4.09 compatible. Hope this can help fixing this problem for this great mod.

EDIT: Can you please explain me how I can insert the logfile in a scroll on this topic?

You can use the code environment for posting logfiles, but maybe the end of logfile is enough.

Likely the real error is not visible there without instant log mod: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,19308.0.html
Unfortunately, that one seems to be only for v4.10.1m, but it is great help in debugging CTD issues.

BTW, pilot damage model is different in v4.10.1m, so that might be the issue here and cause CTD when pilot is hit.

Thank you all for your attention, I think that this will be a not so difficult problem to solve (looking at how many planes can be safely hit under 4.09 and 4.101 installations  ;)) I'll use the instant log and give you a logfile hopefully in a short time. If you want to post fixes, I'll be happy to test them for you (by now I got a clean 4.09 UP2.01 install just to solve this problem).

Ok, here's my logfile (test done on clean 4.09 UP2.01 installation). I copy the last part of the log, if you need more tel me and I'll post the rest. As I can see, memory error/crash to desktop occurs when the pilot (or the pilot zone) is hit. I was able to shot down without problems other P-47N aiming to tail and wing zone (with tails and wings ripped away and plane crashing to the ground without crash to desktop).
I really hope that this plane will be fixed for 4.09, I was really starting to enjoy this great plane and now I really miss him  :'(!

I want to download this but I see no weapons properties section listed. I see the air.ini part and so on but no Weapons properties section. I have UP 2.01 over 4.09 installation.

Finally got DBW 1.71 working.... And this P-47N-15 was my first "added" plane!!!!  The reason I even tried DBW!  I'm a P-47 fan!

I'm so excited to carry better rockets and to finally be able to slide my canopy back!!!

Just one note:  this rendering of a P-47 has clipped wings...


The real P-47N had an all new wing built with two 50 gallon fuel tanks built in.  The squared off wing tips improved roll-rate.  It's new wingspan was just over 42.6 feet.  The extra wing length was added at the wing root... So this also set the landing gear out wider.

LOL!  Yeah I'm flying it right now.... And just got back on here to say that indeed the model is spot on!  The P-47N plastic model kits always look "exaggerated" and this 3D model looks very "natural."  Awesome work!
