Placing self-generated trees?
« on: August 30, 2011, 03:30:15 PM »

Can someones tell me how to match the textures and the trees textures? Currently my textures are not matching the trees, but they look correctly placed if seen outside the game.
Any idea?

I think you are talking about placing the random trees where you intend to have them on a certain texture?
In Boomer's (or was it KevinP's?  :-[) Mapmakers Tutorial he dedicates three pages to that issue.

On a slightly different note, i have been following UP~Boomers excellent tutorial on using the unlocked FMB to edit some maps, specifically using the tileable wood texture to add some more woods.

One thing that has always bugged me with the maps in IL-2 (along with roads and rails with no smooth corners) is the way woods do not cover right up to roads, railways etc, but leave a wide 'corridor' which i think looks unrealistic.

I have been using the tileable woods tile to add more woods in these corridors with pretty good results, however if i go too near to a road or river i can end up with trees covering them, so i was wondering if there is anyway to remove these 'rogue' trees without replacing the woods tile?

thanks for any help

regards
