My plane nerdiness is a little rusty, but as I recall, these babies have such a short takeoff and landing roll that they were never equipped with hooks... they simply didn't need 'em!

Perhaps someone can verify this?

Anyway, much belated thanks for everyone's work. Long been a favorite plane of mine, and the artillery spotter mods are HUGE fun....

I've just been playing with the OV-10 and the Piper Enforcer...Man alive! This beats ALL!!! I absolutely LOVE using the FO rockets and watching the mayhem. Beats doing pinpoint strikes when you're feeling a little lazy. This Viet Nam mod project is something I've wished for ever since I started playing IL-2. Now, we just need the F-105 to add with the Super Sabre, and we'll be in business.

AGAIN: don't quote Pics.

Get a close look to the carrier deck on this photo: basing on the markings (dat arrow |/_ ) it's LHD - Landing Helicopter Deck. These carriers neither have catapults nor arresting wires, so the tail hook is pretty useless here. All aircraft basing on it are either helicopters, VTOL or STOL. OV-10 is STOL, you don't need hook to land it on aircraft carrier and you don't need catapults to take off.

EDIT: Look at the photo's name - it's USS Nassau. Nassau is LHA class - it's even smaller than LHD and still, OV-10 could be used there. You should be able to use this plane on escort carriers actually, with a bit of skill. If you can't - the FM is wrong.

I was meaning to do some skins for this airplane but someone said it was "Franken" until a real model arrives, so i backed
down until a better model comes around.
