Thank you for this nice map.  I was comparing it with agracier's Madrid map.
I like that this one includes more of the northern territory and Guadalajara region.
It is more "green" than the Madrid map so I'm a little confused about which one being more accurate.  I suppose it does get more dry and dusty during the summer time.
The cities have more gray concrete and pavement, and more color, and In my opinion a good thing.
I like that the larger airfields have a unique look about them but the smaller grass airfields all look the same.

I do like this map alot and it's probably my favorite SCW map, along with Madrid map as well.  Good work!

maybe all people have joined the bunkers during the alert !

A little trivia ... in many parts of Republican Spain, air raid shelters were built under churches ... especially if they were, a often the case, built on high ground or on a small hill. This was in the (mistaken) belief that Falangists wouldn't bomb churches.

You can still go into many of these and wander around. Few are closed off and at first glance one would not think the openings were entrances to air raid shelters. The last years, some of the entrances have been encased in concrete, to prevent erosion I would think.

Absolutely outstanding map, a true piece of art........well done Redeye i just love the detail, all that populating must have been a real feat of endurance but in my opinion elevates you to the top of the map builders tree with the all time greats. Thanks very much for this and all the hard work that you've put into it, i'll have fun with this for a long, long time.

I have just a wish, if we could have people in the towns, they look to me a bit unpopulated, maybe all people have joined the bunkers during the alert !

??? People? That's for mission builders rather than map builders. Anything built into a map by the builder can't be removed by the player in game; you'd soon get fed up of seeing the same bunch of folks loitering on the street corners!

Lovely map Jir - thankyou very much.  :)
It take enourmous time to populate towns for missions and loadingtime would be unmanageble. I used to populate around where the actions are not the whole map. Simply because of the FPS drop it is to have action around nice town like this unpopulated . If you populate the town and have action around it the gameengine can simply not handle it

RedEye_Jir,

I would really like to get this map, but megaupload.com has not been working for me lately. Could you also post it at gamefront or filefront?

Cheers,

I must join to all above guys who admire this awesome work on map making . It is truely fantastic. There are three milestones in map making, IMHO:
1. Slovakia map, made by a group of guys in 3 years.
2. Canonuks map of London and Paris region, made within less than two years.
3. RedEye_jir, yours one, made in such short time after your Northern Spain map.
These works are so fantastic that I am hesitating , whether to continue my work on Belarus map at all. >:(

EDIT:
How I fool can forget another milestone in map-making - Mixx and his outstanfing texturing of all the maps he made ! Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa !

RedEye_Jir,

After a few RL interruptions, I finally seized an opportunity to install and fly your Central Spain Map. Your map is absolutely stellar work! One of things I like about IL-2 is its quality of scenery, which for me, gives playing this game more of the feeling of being there. You have done an exceptional job maximizing IL-2's visual and "being there" potential with your map.

So, I thank you very much for this beautiful map, for the research you put into creating it, for adding to our static object inventory, for animated flags, and for providing a alternate download source that I can access.

Cheers,

Riptide

With all new SCW aircraft swooping in, we really need this map.

I've just tested it and it is GREAT! I know a bit of Madrid, and I think it's probably the best recreated city in IL-2, save for Canons London.

This map is a MUST in DBW 1.8!!!!!!
