Guys I've got Great News!

I just got 3ds Max back from a backup and I just got started working on this again. I have got the engines placed and will start working on other basic details. Just a FYI: the wings are that of the C-47 because they look nice when swept back. and the Engine pods came from an old B-52 model I had lying around my back up computer hard drive.

Pics of Progress:

So I hope I don't get the virus on this comp.

Thanks for your support guys!

New Update:

I have just started arming her. Right now, and I admit it is a lot. the armament in the pics are 88x 750lb bombs and for a single bomber that is a lot of bombs. ;) so I will continue working on arming the bomber. and will have an new update soon. btw I used the MERs from S3s F-4. So I hope he doesn't mind.

Another update:

I have also got the landing gear done. have got a rudimentary animation.

Here, I've got a fictional back story behind the XB-75:

In 1955, the year the B-52 entered service with SAC. The Department of Defence decided to do something about the rusting B-29 fuselages out at the boneyard. So they ordered Consolidated to convert four B-29 hulks into Jet powered bombers. Consolidated obliged by taking the wing design of the B-52 (with the engines) and strap it to the B-29 hulk. Along with a swept tail. Within four months Consolidated had the four prototypes finished and ready to fly. Congress and the Department of Defence were shocked by he speed of the conversion. The four prototypes were put through their paces and the new bomber did well by all standards. The Air Force gave the plane the designation XB-75.

After testing the XB-75 prototypes were sent to England AFB to train crews. At this stage the program had advanced past the prototype stage.

The full amount of aircraft produced (including prototypes): 1,590

XB-75 - 4 aircraft
YB-75 - 6 aircraft
B-75A - 200 aircraft
B-75B - 190 aircraft
B-75C - 400 aircraft
B-75D - 250 aircraft
B-75F - 50 aircraft
B-75G - 90 aircraft

As of today the USAF still operates 350 B-75D F and G models.

More info to come later.

Sweet backstory! It makes me wonder how well did it do over Vietnam?

Update to the Backstory:

The B-75s over Vietnam survived with no losses, and that was from the beginning of U.S. involvement in Vietnam to the end.

To Clarify the models of the B-75:

XB-75: Unarmed Test variant
YB-75: Armed with 16 .50s and 1 20mm
B-75A: Basic bombs
B-75B: Navy Variant carrying anti-ship missiles / Mines
B-75C: B-75A with Updated Bombing system
B-75D: Increased Bomb load From A and C models.
B-75F: Recon Variant
B-75G: Latest Variant

Armament:
B-75A: Mk-80 series, Mk-20s
B-75B: Mk-80 series, Mk-20s, sea mines, torpedos
B-75C: Same as B-75A
B-75D: Same as B-75A
B-75F: MGs/Cannons
B-75G: Same as B-75A, AGM-65s

Updates to come.

It's weird how you have all these stats about the plane yet I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything about not even Wikipedia.

It's because I designed this aircraft. Look at the first post and you will find the explanation.

New Update:

I didn't like the look of the B-29 Cockpit and told myself that the B-29 cockpit wouldn't work for a modern aircraft. (Where would the radar array go?) So I decided to use the C-47 cockpit as a "Stand In". Basically I stretched out the nose into a "Radar Cone" and placed it with the fuselage.

More updates to come.

EDIT: I realized there are smoothing issuses. I will correct these at a later time.
