Hi Guys
I was away from active forum and modding life for a while, but have been back and catching up for a week or so. I thought that some may want to get more info on what is ahead here.
I am currently working on a long awaited update for the SAS Modact. This will keep me out of trouble for the next two weeks. After that I am going to be putting together DBW 1.7. That will take another 2 to 4 weeks.
DBW 1.7 will consist mainly of the consolidation of the planelist, but there will as always be lots of other little bits in, and it should also include the "extra optional planes" packs of some types of planes we are removing, and which may only be of interest of enthusiasts of a specific type. There will also be udated AI mod, and a new generation version of the Selector, which still has some final developments to undergo. And then lastly of course all fixes and bugreports we can get to, will be gotten.
For those interested in one click solutions, I want to assure you that infuture there will be a complete DBW and UP pack, that will remove the need for updating through the builds manualy.
The reason there is not one already, is that it will be impractical to a large extent before the final public release version of UP3 is out, and the subsequent DBW build after that.
As you may imagine, there downloads will be enormous, especialy if one factors things like official patches and FBDSM into it. In that regard I am sortof thinking along the lines of also making such a complete pack (all Official patches, FBDSM, UP3, and complete DBW) available in hardcopy format. What this will be and how this will work or even if there is a true call for it or practical possibility of it, is still far off though. It will of course be non profit, and will involve as many SAS members as wants to get involved in the process (because getting a mail package from a guy in your country will be a lot cheaper than an international consignment)
Lastly, and talking about FBDSM, I hope to, after DBW 1.7 is out, to get back to FBDSM and compile another collection for it, hopefully with the help of the guys at Axis&Allied paintworks also, among others.
That is about all the news I have at the moment, any questions, feel free to shoot.
Cheers!
