Hello Walter,

I tried you fix but still could not save, when I try to load a Quick I get a Paratrooper error. Got ...Paratroopers.Germany.mono.sim etc and ...Russia.mono....Paratrooper errors. :D
Thanks anyway, so far this beauty only plays in my DBW install -for which it was made..(did not test in UP 3.0).

Cheers,

Thorsten

Hi Dixie

Just thought I'd let you know and others that I had to increase the ram speed in the IL2 selector to really have fun with this map.

At first was on 512 then got a couple of in flight mission crashes at first then increased to the next ram setting and it's much better.  :D ;)

Tested all this yesterday.

right walter! even though, just to save me headaches for future maps realized in UP3 I simply created another 3do in Files with the proper static.ini in STD/objects and I simply switch betwenn the original and these ones whenever needed!

Dixiecapt!

SUPER! Many, many thanks for this.

I am working on a campaign for it, where you get to fly CY&'s Bronco. If I just get some time off from all RL stuff...  ;)

The trees by Uufflakke work just as well in the 68 version of the map. ;)

Same procedure, copy file Tex to IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/DBW/MapMods/maps/_Tex.

Backup load file in the 68 folder and copy and paste the one from Uufflakke.

Gorgeous.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

 :)

I knew they work, they did.. :D

My issue was rather another (the single tree groups popping up), will pm the master. :)

Cheerio!

FYI, the popping up of 3D random trees on maps is something we all have to deal with unfortunately.  It can be quite an immersion killer, especially with rows of trees in an open field.
Another thing that is hard to manage is getting colours of the 3D random trees matching with the woods. Light effects the objects in another way than on the 5 flat 2D woods layers.
Which means that seen from certain angles the 3D random trees look good but from another direction colours are too dark, too warm or whatever.....

Thanks, what I was referring to was the darker trees in the last screen seem to pop up in front and at the back of my player plane "bubble".

If that's not an error I made while installing, then it's ok. :)

Only thing I changed in the load.ini from before was I set Camouflage= Desert.

Cheers

...here's the shot a bit edited.

But really, the "NamwWood" looks so much more authentically imo, also the single trees are fantastic. ;)
These are exactly the little creative details I love so much in IL-2. Great map!!
