I am having the same issue with the P-38 on the Pacific Islands maps in DCG. Just me?

Can not replicate.  Is there a specific P-30 variant which is having problems?

Basically, I test planes by loading in QMB and dropping landing gear.  If the gear swings down erratically and locks above the aircraft wings, than its bugged.  However, I tested all P-38 variants in my DBW 1.7.1 with JSGME packs and all planes function correctly.

Let me check later today and report back, and see what versions it is.

I think it was the P-38L, on the fictional map Pacific Islands 44, stock DCG campaign. First few missions no errors, then 3rd mission my flight of P-38's hit the runway and only the front wheel is down, the 2 backs ones are up and it hits the ground. Most likely something on my end.

Now I cannot replicate. Maybe a fluke. Thanks for checking it out though.

Greetings.

Just so I won't mess things up and to keep my clean vanilla clean, do I put all my future add ons (skins, pilots and non-mod additions) into the appropriate GME folders?  For example, do I transfer my saved skins from an earlier version into the paintschemes/skins folder in GME or into my main root directory?

Also are the FBDSM files included in your Clean JGME packs or do I have to add them to the Aircraft pack? I don't recall them being part of 1.71 download.

Cheers,

Hi lyteyr

Yes, any new mods/additions you want to add should be within the JSGME packs.  Paint skins can go either in the Aircraft pack or in the core, that is up to you.  The Aircraft pack does contain paintschemes however these are primarily for new aircraft additions.

As for FBDSM, that is a separate beast and thus should be added to the core and not these packs.  FBDSM are packed sfs files which end up residing in the root of il2, I believe.  There are a number of place holder sfs files and some of those are updated per the FBDSM mods updates.

All in all, yea, keep your core clean and use the JSGME packs for any new mod additions.  FBDSM is a separate gig, and goes in the core root.

generic mod enabler software is for turning mods on and off, I dont use it at all because I only rename stuff to -MODNAME inside #DBW folder and its inactive

so mods go into #DBW (for example #DBW/Cloudmod/3do/...), pilots&skins into Paintscemes/Pilots and Skins, campaigns into Missions/Campaign/Country

To the most excellent Sir WindWpn:

2 requests!

1.  Could you please add the release dates to your list packs in the initial post?  This one:

CLEAN DBW Modding Pack Sets

    #DBW_MOD_Aircraft b20120331  MD5:  4a418d8ea78131afa14405c2816a896a
    #DBW_MOD_Static b20120331  MD5:  2ca4ff0b145c783a8993262d4a0e15f5
    #DBW_MOD_Effects b20120322  MD5:  aa59d2b264837a5807efb6ceaafdbf76
    #DBW_MOD_Etc b20120302  MD5:  48f927a3b56c9f2254d09d760dc2d1e7
    #DBW_MOD_Fov b20120302  MD5:  464f2ff64f590b0e6be61dcb6da00e98
    #DBW_MOD_Maps b20120322  MD5:  7667207f75e145e4fb0d89d4dbbc3715
    more to come!

Saw the dates in the specific details for some of them, just thought having it included in your list would make it a bit faster and quicker to keep up to date with these.

2.  Would very much love to see Cy's Fw-190 pack included in a future version of the aircraft pack.

I'm considering naming my soon-to-be-born daughter after you at this point.   ;D

hey whacker!

to answer your questions:

1)  The release dates are included.  The dates are listed as "byyyymmdd" thus for example, the Aircraft pack build is March 31, 2012 (b20120331).  I use this build format in my "day job" so adopted it here.

2)  The FW-190s mod is coming, though this pack will likely prompt a new "theater" implementation.  Basically, only "add on" aircraft for a given theater will be included in the pack.  There may be cross over, but that will be handled in the packs themselves.  For example the hurricane spinners mod would be in both a PTO pack as well as a Euro/Med pack.  This implementation will likely come with one of Monty's future campaigns which require ETO/Med theater add on aircraft.  The FWs would be top of the list.

As for naming your coming daughter after my callsign "WindWpn" aka WindWeapon, well..., the first thought is "bustin ass!" which would likely better fit a little dude!   :)

Hey wind,

The whole idea of your marvelous work is to make life easier and keep some sanity in our day to day, right?  So with that said, would you know if the mods add-ons attached to Monty's DAF campaign (and there are many) are already in your clean vanilla GME?  I'm not adverse to doing the leg work, but if it's unnecessary...

Thanks,

Hey wind, out of curiousity, I notice no gore for all planes mod by: Wolfighter. Seems like that would have made it in here. Would it mess up the packs if I added it? maybe it's been tested already.  :-\

Yes, the gore mod is/was packaged in the Pilots pack which has not actually been released yet.  I have all of Barnesy's pilot mods in the pack but have disabled the gore mod as it does not quite work correctly.  Likely though if you would want to add the gore pack, you can simply add it directly to the #DBW folder as a standard mod (without Better Pilots) install since the mod does not affect DBW vanilla inis.  Only downside to doing this is no "on/off" switch, but that is likely ok in this case or if there are problems, it can be hyphened to disable.

All in all, I have reviewed the gore mod, but did not have it working correctly with the Better Pilots mod.  Thus, I have kept this pack under wraps until I have time to further review, or more likely wait until a resolution from the modders involved is completed.
