Wind,
Thanks for restoring balance to my universe  ;)

I do have a question though...  The new "#DBW_MOD_Static_DAF" folder contains "_08__Tanks_411_for409" as does the previously released V3 "#DBW_MOD_Static" folder.  I assume the new MOD_Static_DAF folder is NOT a replacement for the previous MOD_Static folder.  Should the two tanks files exist in both?

Wind,

I also just noticed that I do not get any rollover information on these new (3_2_2012) folders in either the "Available" or "Activated" windows of JSGME...

hey dpeters!

DAF and the original Static are independent of each other and are intended to be enabled one or the other depending upon the campaign/mission you wish to fly.  Basically DAF includes all the new Epeiver's objects and is intended for campaign makers who wish to use these new objects, such as in Monty's Desert Air Force campaign.  Flyers of the campaigns which use the new objects can then easily enable DAF.

Basically each pack will continue to be modified as new modder objects come to life and/or campaign designers who use DAF wish to have something added.  Basically with DAF, from the static/stationary object perspective, new stuff will be in there for easy use.

Regarding the rollovers in GME, not sure on that one.  when I roll over in my version, I see the info.

Oh, I get it now.  The two MOD_Static folders will not be both active at the same time...  :-[

I figured out the no hover info problem.  When you decompress the 4 folders to their default filename and path you actually end up with the same name on two folders deep.  For example, "#DBW_MOD_Etc.rar" will decompress to:
"drive:\#DBW_MOD_Etc\#DBW_MOD_Etc\#DBW\..."

JSGME won't read the info file that deep.  You have to remove one of those duplicate folders.  They all work now!

Hello,

I installed DBW 1.71 and 1942-The Desert Air Force
and the great CLEAN DBW Modding Pack Sets
(the "old" one) and everything runs o.k. !!

Now I installed the "new" RE-RElease  CLEAN DBW Modding Pack Sets, too.
Into the #DBW - all looks fine.

But my DBW 1.71 now stop by 70 % loading.......
Back to the "old" CLEAN DBW Modding Pack Sets all is running perfect .......

Sorry, I do not find any mistake by my side. Perhaps I do something wrong ??
But what ?

Hello Gerhard,

Note, the re-release packs are replacements for their respective counterparts from the "old."  Therefore, to properly install, simply disable all old in GME.  Then delete out the "old" from jsgmemods folder.  Paste in new, and the re-enable in GME.  That should do it.

Also, Desert  Air Force require Static_DAF pack, while the original Static must be disabled (do not have original Static and Static_DAF enabled at same time).

Hope this helps get you back from the 70% CTD!

Want to mention two things.

First, THANK YOU!  This is a sorely missing aspect of DBW for those of us who want max eyecandy and functionality.

Second, something to consider.  There probably aren't a lot of us at all, but I happen to be one of the folks who has 3 monitors on ATI cards running Eyefinity.  It takes a bit of extra work getting it up and running, but the results are breathtaking.

There are small number of mods that don't work well with this set up at all right now in their current states.  One of them unfortunately is the Ecram wide-screen UI fix.  It looks positively goofy in 6052x1080 (5760 with bez comp), and some things just outright don't work, and the menus display wrong.  Also, it would seem that that QMB/Mission-Pro mods have issues with menus at various resolutions, and the fix for them (edits to conf.ini) depend heavily on what resolution you're running, and if you have the widescreen fix.  I've posted in a few of the mod threads that are affected by this with some feedback and ideas, really hope the owners see that and can fix them so they work.  They are essentially required to making the game workable and enjoyable on modern machines.

So, in short, please consider moving those mods to a separate JSGME pack, because otherwise I really can't download and use whatever includes those because it breaks the game for me.

Note, one easy thing to do while preserving the pack is to simply put a dash in front of the given mod within the pack itself.  Then you can take advantage of other working mods, while disabling the non working ones.  In the case of the one mentioned, I believe the dash will solve the issue!

Are the Effects included in any of the new packs?
All the best

Wind,
I haven't seen this posted before so I thought I would ask.  When I load the MOD_Static_DAF mod, I get a CTD.  I unloaded the MOD_Aircraft mod and everything works fine.  I know about not having the MOD_Static mod loaded at the same time but have not heard about needing to unload the MOD_Aircraft mod additionally...

Hmm, cannot replicate, when I run vanilla DBW 1.7.1 with Aircraft and DAF, no CTD.  Aircraft and all Static packs should be mutually exclusive as they do not employ overlapping inis.  Does this CTD occur when you run Aircraft with the original Static?
