Updated #DBW_MOD_Effects build 20120322 pack released.

Contains:
1)  Carsmaster's water whitecap enhancements
2)  Plutonium Universal Max Effects for DBW w/AI Mod v2
3)  Carsmaster's water explosion ring
4)  PAL's Carrier Catapult

Note, the Carrier Catapult mod adds the steam effect and coupled with the temperature mod found in the Maps pack is affected by given temperature for the map/time of day.  See more on the catapult mod including the necessary config.ini addition at the original post for the mod.  This post is found in the detailed readme found in the documentation folder for the pack which also includes modder credits.

enjoy!

Wind ,

I can't get onto the game front site to download - seems to be a problem with the site. Is there anyway to set up an alternate site?

Thanks ,

Wing,

Thanks for these mod pack. They are a very useful and friendly way to add mods, in particular for guys like me, that are just back to the game after years of being gone.

Just a quick question: Through the thread I see there are references to a MOD_Aircraft, but I don't find a download link for it. Is it available?

Thanks

Thank you, WindWpn!  :)

Would it be possible for you to give a breakdown on page 1 of what is included in each download (similar to the descriptions you've give on this page)?

That way people don't need to search through all the pages to see what is included in which download.

hey Mariskal

yes, there is an Aircraft pack which contains a bunch of great stuff ranging from new aircraft such as the B26 to the late war corsairs, to aircraft improvements such as hurricane spinners to landing gear damage.  However, I have not re-released it yet.  There are a lot of modder credits to confirm and though there is a functional version of the Landing Gear Damage Mod which is included in the pack, there continues to be work on this project and I will only release once approved by the author(s).

All in all though, once the updated aircraft pack is released, it folks will really enjoy it!

Hey Yeager,

Yea, I will add the "readme's " content as "code" displays on the initial post so everyone can see what is included along with modder credits.  Good idea!   :)

Thanks for the prompt reply. Take your time and re-release when ready. By no means I was trying to rush you.

Thanks again for these packs.

Two new "ultimate" packs released today!   :) :)

#DBW_MOD_Aircraft and #DBW_MOD_Static build 20120331 have been released.  The updated packs contain a wealth of excellent IL2 Mods gathered and packaged from the awesome modding community found here at SAS along with one from AAA.  All have been tested and confirmed functional in a CLEAN vanilla DBW 1.7.1 install.  The format ensures a one click GME enable/disable function to bring all this great stuff into IL2 DBW.  Over 2 gigs of content has been released in these packs!!

Additionally, this packs are the basis for new DBW campaign releases coming from Monty27.  Stay tuned for the release of Monty's campaigns very soon!

All in all, enjoy this re-release of these packs featuring some awesome content from the halls of SAS and the awesome modding community!  For details and credits associated with each pack, see the first post of this thread along with the "documentation" folder found within each pack.

PS:  Additionally, if you currently have the DAF Static pack, you may discard DAF for the new Static which contains a merge of DAF content with much more found in Static "ultimate!"  I will soon retire DAF from download in favor of Static "ultimate" only.

I am getting a memory error with #DBW_MOD_Aircraft. The install is clean and I have verified the problem only exists with this one, I also activated all of the mods in the same order as depicted on page #1 of this thread. The error occurs at 70%

Hi flybywire,

If you are receiving an error at 70% game load, I would double check the "cleanliness" of your air.ini file relative to any other aircraft related mods which may be or have been installed.  Best way to identify would be to disable all mods in GME so none are active.  Then, open your air.ini in a compare program such as winmerge and see how it compares against the air.ini which shipped with the DBW 1.7 and/or 1.7.1 installer.  If both match, then recommend checking the other associated inis tied to the Aircraft pack (as noted in the readme found in the "documentation" folder of the pack.   If everything still matches, then next would be to look in your #DBW folder and ensure there is nothing in there except for the mapmods folder, STD, and XTD.

The goal being to ensure that indeed your install is "Clean" DBW 1.7.1.

If you are receiving a 70% load error, it is tied to a disconnect somewhere with likely an aircraft mod/class entry which may have been previously installed and some element of it is remaining in the #DBW core folder.

Also another test after ensuring in DBW is 1.7.1 clean, would be to try the aircraft pack alone by itself.

All in all, try a few different tests, and look to ensure indeed your install is "clean" before enabling any jsgme packs.

Keep me posted if you get it to work.

I am installing IL2 again, using the mega patch to get back to dbw 1.71, and then installing this.

Such a great idea, thanks much. I wish installing all mods were this easy.

Quick question though. Say I dont want the FX pack, but want to use Gurners FX compilation instead. Is there any issue with adding different things?

Should not be an issue if Gurners FX does not affect inis associated with vanilla DBW.  Simply do not enable the #DBW_MOD_Effects pack, while enabling GurnersFX pack.  Likely for effects packs they do not effect inis, but I have not tried that collection.  give it a shot though and see how it works!
