Hey wind,

The whole idea of your marvelous work is to make life easier and keep some sanity in our day to day, right?  So with that said, would you know if the mods add-ons attached to Monty's DAF campaign (and there are many) are already in your clean vanilla GME?  I'm not adverse to doing the leg work, but if it's unnecessary...

Thanks,
lyteyr

Me and Wind keep in touch mate.  He is always aware of campaigns I'm working on and supports me so his JSGME packs are compatible with all of my work.  Actually they're essential!

Note the packs are also key for many of Lonestar's campaigns that feature "added" content such as planes and ships.  I actually originally started the packs to support his DCG campaigns!

BOTH of you are veritable deities, and we're all grateful for what you've done to make this game and mod better.

@ Windmeister

I had one of those HURRDURR!! moments, the second I started to read your response a week or so ago, I realized that you'd already included the build date in the string for each in the section as I had asked.   :-[

Another idea/suggestion to run past you.  If I'm reading right, the version of the il2 selector/exe and buttons packages that shipped with DBW 1.71 aren't the latest.  You can probably see where this is going.  Some kind of "core functionality" pack that always has the latest updates to those things would be cool.  To be honest, I'm not entirely sure I've figured out if DBW uses the online or offline version of buttons, but it's kinda seeming like it uses the offline one, since DBW is aimed at us offline gamers.

Hey Wind,

Do you have any reason why DBW 1916 would CTD at 60% after I added 2 campaigns designed for WWI?  The campaigns contained no files that would compromise the clean vanilla install nor were there additional maps or aircraft that needed to be added to the GME packs. The campaigns came with skins, but those were extracted to the game's paintschemes.

Thanks,

hi everybody!!!
I installed that wonderful pack the other day and i´m very content with it. thanl you loads!! Nevertheless I  have a problem. I have a 20% crash after adding another modded aircraft the way I used to do as many times before...Is it due to the #DBW_MOD_Aircraft-mod, cause it seems to alter the air.ini ? waht is the right way to add new aircraft? just unable the mod? Or am I completely wrong with that issue? I´m quite cautious now since I had a severe crash of my whole game after a test install of the F8F bearcat beta (wich I already did in another istallation of Il-2 and it worked fine!). even after deleting the bird again Il-2 (I used super pack to have the latest version!) wouldn´t start and I had to reinstall the entire game. so any idea what might happened or what was my mistake?

Thanx in advance

Hey Elmar,

If you wish to add new aircraft in addition to the MOD_Aircraft pack, then add the aircraft update within the pack itself including necessary entries in the ini(s).  Likely your error is due to editing the "vanilla" air.ini file which is "replaced" be the one found in the MOD_Aircraft pack.

Therefore when using these packs, if you wish to add new content beyond what comes in the packs, add the content to the respective pack itself rather than the vanilla install.  In your case, your new plane addition should go in the MOD_Aircraft jsme pack.

Hope this helps!

hmmm, when running DBW 1916 it is necessary to choose that option in the SAS selector.  Likely I would recommend disabling, at minimum, the Air and Static packs prior to running 1916.  If you still have crashes, then disable all the MOD packs to see if it will work.  Main thing is that these packs were tested for DBW 1.7.1 only and not 1916.

If disc space allows I would recommend a separate install for DBW 1916.
