sorry, can´t say anything to the log file - the message files are only the briefings in the dgen folder they can´t do any harm

i suppose there is something wrong with your installation, even if i hate to say it ... it looks like you have to reinstall

Thankyou so much for making this available  :)

I am a bit of a dunce, and am unable to find the combined skinpack for this, and your Defense of the Reich campaign, perhaps they are simply not uploaded yet and i am being impatient  :-[

Thanks again for the enormous amount of work you have done for us all

Cheers Dakpilot

the skin packs are available again:

http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/download.php?list.58

there are thre packs, one for Luftwaffe, RAF and USAAF - the skins are for both campaigns, Westfront and Defense of the Reich

I would delete your DGEN folder and start again, you DID make a backup? or copy from your Clean game backup, make sure you have the latest Dgen.exe available from this thread :  https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20368.0.html

Then install the  updated message files from vtrelut and then install the DGEN campaign  i have it working fine in DBW1.71 with this procedure  :)

Cheers Dakpilot

P.S. thanks for the skins  8)

Found out the hard way that this aint DCG. lol. I'm not about to back up my wonderful DCG to download a new version of dgen (which DCG replaces) to play this. I downloaded everything and the dang thing didnt work, so i went back and looked at the tons of stuff i need to do and when it came to downloading a new dgen version, i said the hell with it. lol. DCG is too critical to me but i will commend you on this. Really looks like a nice put together campaign. unfortunately DCG wins on this one. but if you make a version that is DCG compatible and instead of things all over the place (yes i need easy lol) you make a "one shot-one kill" version that includes everything down to the DGEN rewrite which i would gladly uninstall my DCG to add this. but i am lazy lol. Hey, at least I'm honest. hehe cheers m8 and good luck on your endeavor.

Hey Chaney!

Have not seen u on WoP in a while, plus GS has started Live in the Solomons.  Fun times!

Regarding your DCG/DGEN experience, you can run this campaign pretty easily even with running DCG campaigns active.  Basically it boils down to the DCG UI dropdown "Mode" selector.  When you click on "Mode" along the top bar in the DCG UI, the "Replace Career Generator (DGEN)" is the key.

If you want to fly this campaign, uncheck the line.  Load up DBW, and start up or continue this campaign.  If you want to go back to DCG, simply close Il2, open the DCG UI, and check the "Replace Career Generator (DGEN)" mode.  Load IL2 back up, choose your DCG campaign, and hit it!

All in all, the "Replace Career Generator (DGEN)" is basically the toggle between DCG and DGEN.  Very simple to switch between the two in the DCG UI, and enjoy either type of dynamic campaign.

Note, this DGEN campaign in particular is quite nice since there is a TON of ground activity with lots of stuff to hit even outside mission objectives.  Plus the airfields are well populated for the ambiance.  Whereas, DCG has the "rolling" campaign activity/response format and lots of air action possibilities, this DGEN campaign in particular simply has a lot of stuff down low!

I enjoy both with that simple toggle!

One thing I noticed, unless I'm doing this one wrong too, is that when you pu;; DCG back up, this campaign wont show. I'm a noob to DGEN too because I started with DCG first. I'm flying missions but I cant add planes but I'm assuming that is how dgen works which is cool with me. So i dont really see any link between dcg and this campaign. I tried finding the campiagn thru 3rd party campaigns and it didn't show there either. I'm clueless but flying but that is scary in itself because all i did was followed some downloads in here that people needed lol.

the whole time i had dcg4dbw mod running in JSGME. some how when I clicked the ........whatever lol. screw this haha.

I had the correct version downloaded and my dgen.exe says the latest version. this is some kind of a sick joke. Town Atlantis??? Really? Bro you make awesome campaigns but unfortunately I havent been able to fly a single one of em except the reich. Good grief charlie brown! Kick me in the junk cuz there has got to be a more sane way of understanding all this mess. 2 years flying IL2 and most of it heartache. but it's the only flight sim worth a darn. *sighs*  what gives?

I never take back my words and i always respect all you knowledgeable guys making this stuff work for all us who don't have a clue what the heck you guys do. Ever heard the term that some people are so smart that they can't explain themselves well or comminucate with others. Hehe, I'm humble so i will choose the latter. At anyrate, i redownloaded the dgenexe (again) and now everything is tracking fine. I thought my wife was stressful. She aint got none on this game. Thanks Boelcke for being an above average human being.  ;) S!

Hi Chaney,

your log dfile says that you´re using and old version of dgen.exe - DGen 4.0.0.9 - you have to use the latest version (4.0.8.6) get it here:

http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/download.php?view.525

without this version of dgen.exe my campaigns don´t work.

Unzip the file and copy the dgen.exe file into your IL 2 root folder and overwrite the old one, that´s it.

btw, Atlantis isn´t a joke, it´s needed to activate the fake British Island on the Normandy map, but you´re right, it realy sounds silly :)

HAHA LMAO. I'm sorry but When I first saw it I was like WT......? And then I realized that it was a miniature England with cliffs of Dover. Wasn't laughing at you but when I first took off from there I was like, "where's England?" Then it dawned on me ahhhh maybe this is Atlantis hehe. Awesome campaign btw. For some reason when I installed the newest dgen.exe it didn't stick. When I reinstalled it again, it did. Oh yeah btw, if in the USAAF 1941 with the spits, the game crashes after the forth mission. I have been flying the Jug and have no issues at all. Now it's time for me to try the Reich as dgen. Can't wait.

There is another version of the Normandy map with the Island changed for a more representative southern Engand, I believe it was by Fly_zo

It is included in Enjoyr patch   http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1972

Maybe available elseware but here it is all packaged up to replace the default  :)

Just extract to a folder and find the map and tex in JSGMEMODS folder, just put in mapmods, it will replace the default Normandy map. Put a - in front Normanfy if you already have one in your maps folder. If you prefer the textures in the previous Normandy map you had just copy the relevant sections from the load.ini to the replacement one

A small thing but for me is better than flying from the "channel Islands"  :-X

Dont mess with the other files they are outdated, and you may get yourself in a mess  ;)

Does anybody else have issues where guys come over the radio in other languages?  I just started a run as a British fighter pilot, and I'm getting bomber squadrons and even ground control talking over the radio in what I think is Japanese...  Not game breaking, but certainly takes some of the immersion out of it.

I tried to search the thread for this but didn't find anything, sorry if it's already been mentioned.

Never heard this before - my campaign contains only dgen (campaign) files, not relation to other game files - is this a problem you have also with other GB campaigns?
