that's what happens in the log -  great, thanks
now also tell us what happens ingame, visually, when this error happens, please.
and be specific about which models don't work , and also exactly how they 'don't work'
and also, where did you install the 2 sfs files?

so, i've tried to get this pack working while retaining the variants that i already have with the 190Family Pack_v3.1, but it's resulted in a 3d hell, of some models having certain parts of the fuselage at 90* to the rest, pilots turned the wrong way, pilots with no heads, heads with no pilots, some models missing parts completely, the Ta-152's all have the spinner and prop sitting about a meter in front of where it should be - basically, an absolute abortion.
lol, here's a pic of what the D-14Proto looks like: :D

No quote pics !

so is it one pack or the other? in order to use this pack, i must prepare to lose almost a dozen models that i already have, which all work fine?
is that about the gist of it?

edit: that's sad news about Claymore - so that's it then, Mick? if this pack is then no longer available for 4.12.2 and maybe never will be again, then perhaps i should remove the 4.12.2 info for it...?

even though CLaymore is not around - the pack download i'm looking for is the one put up by Stefan SG, but he said earlier in the thread that he can't upload it to mediafire, so i'm still hoping that someone who has that pack, will upload it for us again..... although, it's almost a year since it's been first asked, so either no-one has it or no-one is interested in sharing it... :(
edit again: just to avoid any confusion, this is the pack i'm referring to: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20351.msg488885.html#msg488885

Hi Malone/

Just seen your issue with the 190's. If you are still having problems, the solution goes back to the old TFM412 days and is a result of conflicts with either Wolfighters Luft pilot mod or Jero's fix eng and cowling mod. If you have either of those installed, look for the 190 folders in 3do/plane and rem them out. A scan through the early TFM412 threads will confirm the problem.

Best Regards,

Bergkamp

thanks Bergkamp, i'll have a look at that asap -
although i can say that i do not use Wolfighters LW pilot, at least to my knowledge.
i did have a cowling mod of jero's, but i deactivated it, and the D-14 Proto still looks like that.
i'm a little busy with another project atm, but will move back to this again soon. :)

@ Malone. Which sfs files? Well when I try to look at the planes in the qmb it's blank and if I try to take it out it results in like it only showing a part of the map. Say I was trying to take it out on Berlin all I saw was some water covering most of my screen and the grass and sky above that.

@ Malone. Which sfs files? .

err.. o_O..... the two sfs files which constitute 90% of this mod...
if you have to ask about those, then you almost certainly don't have the mod installed properly (if at all)
they are mentioned, and linked, in the requirements of the first post. how do you miss such essential stuff?  :o

You need:

1) One 7z archive of fb410_clay01 and 02.sfs

I thought it those downloads at the top didn't apply to me. All I just saw was 4.12.2m MA 5.3 and I just immediately went for it
Edit: Got the sfs files but now getting a 30% crash in the qmb

i admit the instructions in the first post are confusing, but a little concentration and you should be able to figure it out.

also, bear in mind that English is not the first language of the author.
that said, i have a fair share of inexplicable errors with my FW190's, but it seems i'll have to sort them out myself, as i find the time.
afaik, Claymore is no longer modding for IL-2, so you just have to hope some other kind soul can help you.
i'm no longer mentioning any of my problems, as no-one seems to have a clue about them so i simply live with it, and fix them one by one as i have time. ultimately, my 190's will be highly individually customised, as i am making fixes for issues only i have, lol.
good luck with it!   :)

... you must have at least one conflicting mod, Eugene, I heavily suspect a pilot mod (typical of pilot sitting 90° sideways in the cockpit ...), may be Barnesy's ReduxPilot or Wolfighter's pilot mod, and also typical hier.him issues (engine cowling upside down) ...  ;)

well, Mick, i wish i could find the conflict, mate - but so far, no joy.
let me use the D-14 Proto as an example, as it's the one i posted a pic of here, so it's easy reference.
please point out any faults in my logic that you see....
firstly, i guessed that the D-14 Proto uses the D-14 cockpit, that makes enough sense to me.
however, the issues i have mean that i need to look at the Plane folder, and not the Cockpit folder.
so, i narrowed that down to two possible options - it's either using the Fw190D_Latetail or the Fw-190D-11(Beta) Plane folder.
so, for anything to be conflicting, it also needs to be using one of those two Plane folders. correct?
on initial investigation in my Mods folder, i immediately found some possible suspects:
Fw-190D-11(Beta) Plane folder was being used by the following mods:

#Mod Wheels V5
412 Stock fix Cowling Engines and prop
vp_damage_layers v1.4

of these, only the Stock Cowling Engines and Prop mod might possibly be interfering, so i disabled it.
the D_14 Proto remains unchanged. there are NO other instances of this folder being used  in my Mods folder.
okay, well maybe it's using the Plane folder Fw190D_Latetail ..... let's try that....
the only other mods in my folder that touch on that folder are..... oh. none.

right, so that's where i'm at. with no other instances of this plane being referenced anywhere in my Mods folder, what am i to do?
in other words, to my thinking, the problem MUST lie in the original plane folder that shipped with this mod...
i mean, what else could it be?
i have made use of Barnesy redux pilot in some planes, such as P-40, Hurricane, Spitfire, but not with any German planes, so i fail to see a conflict.
the situation is similar for all the other FW's that have issues.
i keep being told there must be a conflict, and i agree. but there simply IS NO conflict that i can find.
so......stuck. go straight to jail. do not pass go. do not collect $200 ...  :P

... well I just fired up my D-14 Proto (4.09 version) to check, in case I had a prob too, and it works like a charm, although I have Barnesy's D9 that loads before it (since it is in my MODS folder)

I am almost sure it is a pilot mod conflict when you find yourself with a FW/Ta pilot sitting 90° sideways in the cockpit, as I already had that sort of bug before ...

This is due to the fact that Clay"s pilot has got an animated right arm that moves the stick and flaps (outside view) ...

Maybe you have some other 3D mod, such as cowling or whatever ...?

It is sometimes very surprising where bugs come from ...

For ex, it took me more the 2 hours yesterday to figure out why I couldn't use the FW200 anymore, with a log that was complaining about not being able to load PilD7.mat ...!  o_O

...and of course there was no such PilD7 anything, anywhere in my FW200 folder ...  o_O

... 2 hours later, after having tried all my FW200 backups, guess what ..?

I remembered that I recently added this bomber crew mod:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3997.msg40979.html#msg40979

... and the FW200 in there is buggy, since there are 2 .mat files that call 2 textures that are missing from the Textures folder provided with the mod ...  :-X

This nice little mod was released in march 2010, and apparently, nobody ever reported that bug ...  ;)

So even with a short and simple alarm in your log, it is sometimes very time consuming and harrassing to find the origin(s) of a bug ...  :(

tell me about it, mate - this last week was one constant bug-hunt, literally going from solving one problem, straight into a new problem.... when i find out what the cause is, i'll be sure to provide feedback
