Perhaps someone can help me with some questions. On February 18th, a post by Verelamb included the following statement: "I am using DBW 1.71 + CTO mod + Pablo's Catapult Mod + the angled deck USS Essex mod mentioned here." For me, I got the catapults to work on the angled deck CV's by including a Pablo's Catapult Mod, temporary version 12. However, I do not have the CTO mod to which Verelamb refers.

Where can I get this CTO mod?

Given that after I installed Pablo's Catapult Mod, temporary version 12, all CV catapults work, including that on the angled deck CV's, do I still need the CTO mod?

Cheers,

SSC(Super Structure = island / bridge) is finished.

I need to make Mast and Radars.

I search photos or pictures of SCB-27 Essex island (SCB-125's island is designed at SCB-27 time),
right side radar (AN/SPS-29?) 's support way is different in each photos or pictures.
Some are supported from the island, others are supported from the mast.
Which ship has which way, I can't know, I decide to make all Essexes this radar mast supporting style only.

Good luck getting an answer, I've had the damnedest time trying to make heads or tails of what is needed and what is not. It's hit or miss getting everything you need and when you get it to run, either the planes don't spawn on deck or they fall off the end when you try to take off cause the Cats don't work.  Had the same problem with the French Carriers.  Would be nice if it was all packaged up into a "complete jsgme" and put out as a finished download, but be careful, make sure whoever does it that all the salutations are included in it to avoid having the link disabled.

For Western:

And as for the Island structures, as the ships were retrofited no two were the same, to save money or because of new equipment or from lession learned from the previous install there were changes.  I spent 20 years in the US Navy and went through quite a few refits and Overhauls on different carriers, and none of them are the same.  No one here is going to be able to tell you exactly what each one had, and only nitpickers will care....lol, and they should of provided the info they had to you to start with..................

Cheers mate!...........

BeoWolf,

As I thought, I am not the only one struggling with putting together everything that is needed for this mod. I agree with you that a JSGME mod would be good solution.

I've noted a problem with the angled deck CV's and would like to know if anyone else has encountered it. While AI planes launch and land on these CV's, player planes (e.g. Fury, Skyraider) fall through the deck on mission start up.

So far, I've found only one exception: F-4E Phantom II. Both AI and player F-4s can launch from the angled deck CV's. However, so far, my F-4 tumbles head over heels on landing. In contrast, I've learned to land the F-4 on the USS Boxer.

In any case, I would like to know if anyone else is finding that their plane falling through the deck of the angled deck CV's on mission start up.

A nice read me by some one with the required mods and the order they need to be installed would help a lot, but the thread talks about too many betas this CTO mod, that CTO mod, I've installed this thing about 4 times and the ships are there, but they never work right, or the planes don't spawn on deck, and or they fall through the deck, or after landing on them with the default air start the cat's don't work.

This and the French carrier are the only ones I have not been able to sort out, most other mods are pretty easy.

Eventually I guess.

Thanks

In DBW 1.71 install all entries in the relative section under USS Boxer....those ships are the tme continuation so can be placed there historically corrected too....note that:

- in ships.ini you can add all files at the low end of the text because it's not order dependant;
- in chief.ini there are 2 entry (add1 and add2) which goes under two different location....

Thanks.
I've got every photos from navysource.
18 ships+times I will make different styles at thier radars or masts from now.
1 ship needs 1 day , I think.
I will release non-beta finished pack about 3 weeks after.
