Odd about the manual landings,

[DJP]  I can usually land bi-planes, and anything with a fixed u/c. With retractable u/c planes, I usually fail to keep the nose up, and stall. I therefore find Mr Auto-pilot very helpful.

cheers

Do you trim upon the landing approach ? That could help. Also try to stay about 10 km/h above stall speed until you cut the throttle. If you stall then that's most likely because you were too slow.

Dreamk,

This is awesome.  I noticed that there are some discrepancies between the codes in the air.ini and the planes.properties files...  due to using 74 instead of 14.  I used the following and it works well:

AIR.INI
Code: [Select]
Ba65A80ArconeL            air.Ba65AA 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65A80Monoplace          air.Ba65AM 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65A80TurretM            air.Ba65TA 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14BiplaceEarly       air.Ba65KB 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14Monoplace          air.Ba65KM 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14ArconeL            air.Ba65AK 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14TurretM            air.Ba65TK 2          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER

planes.properties/planes_ru.properties
Code: [Select]
Ba65A80ArconeL           Breda 65 A80 Arcone L, 1936
Ba65A80Monoplace         Breda 65 A80 Monoposto, 1937
Ba65A80TurretM           Breda 65 A80 Turreta M, 1937
Ba65K14ArconeL           Breda 65 K14 Arcone L, 1936
Ba65K14BiplaceEarly      Breda 65 K14 Biposto, 1936
Ba65K14Monoplace         Breda 65 K14 Monoposto, 1936
Ba65K14TurretM           Breda 65 K14 Turreta M, 1936

And of course the skin folders would then be:
Ba65A80ArconeL
Ba65A80Monoplace
Ba65A80TurretM
Ba65K14ArconeL
Ba65K14BiplaceEarly
Ba65K14Monoplace
Ba65K14TurretM

Finally, a question.  I noticed that the planes displayed on the upper part of the Arming screen, indicating that their roll and pitch axis are not within the plane... that may be adding additional weight to the nose... possibly more so than warranted.

I flew the plane and looked at it from the outside, looking at the front of the plane, and sure enough, the plane did not roll based on its own axis (which would be somewhere inside the plane), it rolled instead over a point under and outside of the plane... try it and see if you notice it.  This makes the handling charateristics a little more challenging.  I wonder if that has some factor on the super heavy nose (understand there is historical evidence, but still).

Other than that, this is out-frigging-standing.  Lots of fun.  Any way the turrets will be playable at some point?  At least in my install they are not available.  Again thank you for a super cool mod pack.

You're right - I've corrected the air ini entries on the first post so they display correctly the K14 insteadof this K74.

[Do you trim upon the landing approach ? ]

[DJP]  I never learned the art of trimming. I'm just plain lazy. So, I let my very good friend Mr Autopilot do the job. I'm sure your suggestion would work perfectly if I wasn't so lazy. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

cheers

Well it is fast there flight model will correct? And that excuse certainly, but in that kind in which these planes now exist, them not probably  to use. Though from for that that they aren't killed when them force down =). It not including other small errors.

Samourai, you'll need to wait still for some time - if you'd followed the discussions on this forum, you'll know taht we are presently involved in putting some order in the emd of the Gnome and rhone family engine (and this includes the Isotta Fraschini K14).
Only after that we will be able to finalize the updated FM for this plane - the other FM problems concerning "element strength" have already dealt with, as some hier him corrections - and there are also new meshes of canopies and fuselage - I do not intend to make partial uploads, but will upload a single complete update, in due time :).

Hi Dreamk, I have no clue about how to d/load the third update; I mean; i have the page translated but the download link does not work. Could you help me please?

Best regards,

Gianluca
Here you are istructions for DL from ifolder.ru, with a major problem: SAS site doesn't allow cyrillic typefaces... ::)

If request of download comes from other country than Russia you must:
1) click on the clickable word in third line of text above sharing icons (it seems "cio4a")
2) choose a sponsor and look advertising for 30 seconds
3) after 30 sec click on two clickable words at the end of first line of text appearing at top of page ( looking similar to: "HaxmnTe cio4a" )
4) fill the captcha with numbers and click on the word just below the window
5) click "cka4atb"
6) DL begins :)

otherwise you download STEALTHY for Mozilla Firefox and configure it so that it seems that your traffic comes from Russia... ;)

My apologies to Russian friends for the horrible translitteration!    :)

A better idea than posting the updates in a webpage most can't read would be to pull the original, and insert the updated file.  One stop shopping on a download is the best way to go...... and just call it ver 1.xxxxx or what ever it happens to be.  I have found some threads are so convoluted you can't make sense of them after 3 or 4 updates, makes them almost impossible to use.  Some have gotten it right and have made it easy for everyone to enjoy their mods.  And thank god for Winds jsgme packs.....................

Beo you're right - but as I explained the comprehensive update is "incoming" and it will includes a lot of changes, from new meshes for fuselage and canopies and turrets, to new versions (piaggio engined Ba65).
