There is now a WW2 campaign for this aircraft:

EDITED !

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1344

Hope you like it!  :)

I have a DBW 1.71 installation and have added several individual mod planes like the Typhoons & Tempest (+ Seafury) family upgrade by crazyflak, Blenheims by Dreamk , New cockpit of Me 323 Gigant, Mosquito NF pack, SB-2M103 and SB-2M100A, B-26B Marauder,G.50 bis A bis AN/BN. and Breda Ba65 K14 & A80.
I have also a few Campaigns such as the Typhoons over Normandy, Dawn Patrol (DBW 1916) to play with. Recently I have added the BattleAxe 4 : flying the Breda Ba.65 and also the requisite Breda Ba.65 pack .I could play the Bredas in the QMB which proves that the planes are added correctly but I fail to get the mission listed in the dropdown list. Also I do not have a \IT folder as stated by Poltava and have placed the mission under \RA. I have also noticed that unless there is a \IT folder the Regia Aeronautica does not features under the Airforce dropdown menu so I had to create a empty \IT folder( without the awards, background.tga ) and placed the folder. But that didn't helped either. Also I have copied the contents of the \RA folder to the newly created \IT folder and tried to play after placing the Campaign folder in it . This has not helped a bit. I have tried different other methods like renaming the \RA folder to \IT and renaming the mission folder but it was of no avail. I have comunicated my woes to Poltava and he has adviced me to post it in the forum. If any body is aware of some soluton please reply. I have tried to follow the instruction in the readme file as close as possible . I have placed the extracted skins of the planes in the \skins folder and renaming the earlier similar planes' skins to avoid conflict.

I really hope that DreamK will have a re-look of this plane. It's not about the 3D, not even about the FM that definetely needs refining. It's mostly about the fact that is a VERY HEAVY installation that even in the DBW 1.71 it shows...

I hope he does to and an updated FM would be a definite plus.Dutchman you probably need the IT voice pack installed to get the campaign to work.

lol,hi, and welcome to the forum.
please learn from early on that if you need help, you should provide info that can help others to help you - so, you should always provide at least what game version you are running, with which modpack/activator, etc.
otherwise we cannot offer correct advice....

This is the link for the last comprehensive version - a major update of the whole Ba65 family is planned in the next couple of months (new 3d meshes are ready, but some other mods have priority before this planned update)

Hello,

Could I please get help adding this plane:

I have never added a plane before and I am stumped in trying to add this plane to play Battleaxe 4.

I have a working copy of DBW 1.71 and have added Battleaxe 4 successfully and it will run, but of course without the Ba65 it defaults to a different plane, so no fun in that!

Here are the details.  If the answer to my question is in a comprehensive post here at SAS somewhere else please just point me to it with a link.  I have been using the search function for 3 hours and can't find an overall explanation.

When I run Battleaxe 4 I get the message "Air Class air.Ba65AA doesn't exist in your IL2 game so another plane will be substituted."

So I followed the instructions in the OP of this thread to add the Ba65 and did this:

In order to add the 7 aircraft, add to the air.ini file:

Ba65A80ArconeL       air.Ba65AA          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14ArconeL            air.Ba65AK          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65A80TurretM            air.Ba65TA          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14TurretM            air.Ba65TK          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65A80Monoplace            air.Ba65AM          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14Monoplace            air.Ba65KM          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER
Ba65K14BiplaceEarly            air.Ba65KB          NOINFO  i01   SUMMER

If you want, you can after that add to the plane_ru.properties file the following lines:
Ba65K14ArconeL     Breda 65 K14 Arcone L, 1936
Ba65A80ArconeL      Breda 65 A80 Arcone L, 1936
Ba65K14TurretM      Breda 65 K14 Turreta M, 1936
Ba65A80TurretM      Breda 65 A80 Turreta M, 1937
Ba65A80Monoplace   Breda 65 A80 Monoposto, 1937
Ba65K14Monoplace   Breda 65 K14 Monoposto, 1936
Ba65K14BiplaceEarly   Breda 65 K14 Biposto, 1936

The add to the ru.properties file sounds optional "If you want" so I tried it both with and without the add to the ru.properties file.

I also followed the instructions in the Battleaxe 4 readme file below:

3. Skins: With this campaign comes 7 skins, that comes zipped. If you follow these instructions, you can get them all installed AUTOMATICALLY in the right folders, without any hassle! Right Click on the zip file (aircraft_skins.zip) and choose the alternative "Extract to..." Then locate where your IL-2 programme is installed and choose the "Skins" folder (The usual path is "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\PaintSchemes\Skins\"), click on "Extract" and - hey presto - all the skins should land in their proper folders.

and the skins have indeed landed in their proper folders.

But after all of the above, DBW won't load.  It simply quits at about 70%.

When I look at the Ba65 folder and subfolders that come in the zip file I see the following structure:

Ba65
    3DO
        Arms
            2KgBombletF
            2KgFragIt
            2KgIncIt
            Spezz_56
        Cockpit
            Ba65A
            Ba65K
        Plane
            Ba65a
                Summer

Most of the folders above contain many files.  A few are empty parent folders with the files contained in the subfolders below them.  In all, between parent and subfolders there are several hundred files and I have no idea where to place them and I'm assuming their absence is why DBW won't load after modifying the air.ini as described above.  By simply unzipping the file in any single location they don't autoinstall, but rather unzip in the structure shown above wherever I aim the unzip.

Could someone please explain or show me where to find instructions on the location to add these files.  I can edit text files using Notepad and am fairly proficient in doing this sort of thing, but I have no idea where to place everything.

Thanks so much for your help.  I think with help on this Ba65 I will probably never have to ask this question again for any other plane.
