I think I have isolated the culprit for not being able to fly the Ba65 as pilot. I had it installed in ModAct and all went well. I could fly as pilot and finish a whole mission.

But then when doing a bit of updating in ModAct I imported the Platinum Effects mod, latest version, the Ba65 was no longer flyable and the mission crashed upon loading. remove Plat Ef and all went well again. Ba65 is flyable. I tried disabling the Platinum Effects in DBW and when disabled, the Ba65 is flyable in DBW as well ...

So it seems to me that the Platinum Effects Mod has some kind of (obscure) conflict with the Ba65 and Ro37 and He46 as well ... I wouldn't know how that could be, but it is what I experienced in both ModAct and DBW 1.6.

Maybe this can help someone see what the conflict is in specific terms? I'd hate to give up Platinum Effects since it is the ultimate in effects mods ...

I tried the Bredas for another couple of hours. My results are:

- The confict with the P-61 is absolute.

- No definitive results about the platinum effect. I don't believe that the platinum effect is a problem by itself...the problem is that the bredas are an extraordinary 'heavy' installation!
I had to unistall loads of extra planes and when I am saying loads, I mean LOADs, basically everything non-stock (non 4.101, even all the extras that UP3.0 provides, that means e.g. all zeros!) from the soviet and japanese list and many from other countries too, that is more that 40 entries (at least, I cannot say exactly because i was keep changing the air.ini trying to find the conflict plane!). Everything from Ki-43-IIIs to IARs (these fantastic additions from Frankiek that nobody seems to care about!) to anything that had a G-R engine or a derivative of it was targeted as a possible conflict plane...nothing. The result was one and only: When I was keep reducing planes, there was one point that suddendly the bredas became trouble-free. I think here there is the relation with the platinum effects, and I 've seen that even without the small FX effects it was a bit better.

This is interesting - I have a feeling that the problem is not so much the Platinium effects as the overall number of Java files - when not using SFS archives but loading "mods" from the folder, all the java files in the folder are loaded - both platinium mod and the Ba 65s have a large number of java files (14 for the Ba65, 79 for the platinium effects) - I made a "vanillia" installation of the UP30RC4  and added the He46, the Ro37bis and the Ba65 a couple of other planes (15 java files in all) then the platinium effects v2 for up30 - all went fine and smooth - so the platinium mod is not a cause of conflict by itself (meaning the conflict is not between java files) but the Il2 engine may crash with an overload of java  - thus the use of SFS archives.
Having said this on my 410 with modact installation I have in my mod folder a total of 606 java files (half of that being he skyraiders and 1956jetwar updates) and with 3 GB of Ram it runs quite smoothly....

Dumb question. But what is "DiffM"? Will this aircraft work in DBW updated to 1.6?

Wether tehse planes it will work in DBW1.6? same as other mods that you introduce there - if you already have a "heavy" mod folder and not too much RAM you may have a problem, if not it will probably go smooth.

Please tell your modeler that the profile of the wing on top is convex, not flat. Thank you.

It does work in DBW 1.6. I hadn't any trouble from the start. The only thing is that I installed it in my SCW copy, where I only have another 15 extra mods by now.

The second update is here - the Ba65 A80 versions have front edge slats as was historically the case, activated together with the flaps.

Just copy all the files (meshes, hier.him and java files) contained in this archive (respecting of course the folder locations existing in the archive)

Do it work properly on HSFX5.0.1? Tried to put it on my game, put the Diffm on the MODS folder (SAS MODact), it showed up on the plane selection screen. Then i hit fly, the game crash at 30% (Loading aircraft). Any tip on how to solve this issue?

Edit - This problem may be related to diffm, not the plane. I removed the plane, but let the diffm in the folder. Had same issue.
