I added WATER_STATE = ICE to one winter map that had it missing and checked that the FinsGulf in DBW 1.71 has WATER_STATE = ICE defined, but still ice behaves like water when crashing onto it on both maps. Thus, something in core DBW classfiles seems to be broken because WATER_STATE = ICE doesn't seem to work anymore.

Yes,it seems build 1.71 has corrupted DBW somehow then

Oh well,I'll remove my redundant post seeing as it makes no difference now, if DBW is broken

kapteeni, your maps look amazing! I was wondering - do you have a website or a "kapteeni maps/mods" thread where all of this gets posted? I've been going through your previous posts looking for other things you've created (like the LR2 DCG campaign), but I worry that I'll miss some things. Is there anywhere where all of your maps/campaigns/mods(?) are linked to? I love your work, so I was hoping to have all of it  ;D

Have you test also keep temperature below zero?

Yes, temperature is below zero in both maps I tested, so that can't be the problem.

Hi guys!
Thank you for the support. Suomussalmi map needs a bit tweekin untill it is ready. Jami will do some additions to airfields and maybe to somewhere else.

I will edit towns and i also look if i can find what causes conflict with 3d trees  ( forest =3).
As Boomer wrote, there is a small thing with frozen water, but it wil be good eventually.

I will try to find some time to make missions and maybe campaign too.

Oh ya,the boy's will figure out the conflict in DBW 1.71
As Birdman suggested there may be a class file conflict somewhere so it will get sorted for next build I'm sure

Does not make the map any less spectacular  :)

The forest = 3 not working
may have to do with using other tree objects on the map
if no other tree objects were on the map BUT the treeline object trees, then I think they would work as Random tree look with forest 3 setting
For some reason, the new Battle of Moscow map has the same bug I read in the BoM map thread
and it also,is using other treeline tree objects that were made for that map

for an experiment, you could crack the actors and remove all trees other than the treeline objects then recompile and check to see if the treeline objects turn to random trees after with forest 3 settings

I use TextPad for a text editor,it's search function with bookmark lines, then cut boomarked lines easily and quickly can remove objects from a buildings file
It also handle huge text files easy with no freezing etc. and of coarse it is free  ;D

Not to say you have to or need to try and do it,we all have RL lives and not much time
but that would be a way to see if what I read on BoM map and this map are the same bug and if that may just be the reason

Cheers

I remember that we had the same error on Karelia map. It was due some other trree object. Just like boomer wrote.

I will crack actors.static and try to find that object. If not, i need to make it from scratch.

Iced water is only a problem if there is airfields on ice, like in Eastfront. Ice Airfields can be done by altering map_c , but it is not the same.

Finally I have managed to install and make work the 2048 textures related mods.....

I got this map working flawless thanks to the textures linked on page 6!

Strangely on my rig I haven't any trouble of non iced water....I placed some stationary tanks over the small lake sw of Narna airfield (NE section of the map) and they haven't sink under ice....

Nor I have trees issue and I have forest=3 in conf.ini too....

Will this map be used to replace the current map for the stock Finnish campaign ?

No, this map covers slice of Northern Finland from Oulu to Kemi and it is far away from Gulf of Finland map area.
