@El_Marta
 I agree it is a euphemism, and the RAF planners knew the consequences of their raids, but if you read the thread, my point is that incendiary bombs were not dropped to 'deal with civilians', they were dropped to destroy buildings.

And what do you mean by "At the end of the war "de_housing" the working population had become a big buisness for the weapon dealers.". Who are you talking about? Which 'weapon dealers'?

In the past I have used the generic military figures posed as ground crew but it would be nice to see something a little more detailed and accurate (i.e. grey coveralls for the mechanics etc).
If I knew how to do it I would use the existing soldier figure objects and "repaint" them if you get my meaning then add them back as extra object figures.

Maybe someone has already done this?  If so I couldn't find anything on it and would appreciate a link.

+1!   A repaint of the existing Il2 soldiers (similar to what WingFlyr did for Armor) is definitely needed.  One of the only "old school" visuals in the game which remains are the default soldiers and ground personnel.

The aim of the allied bombing campaign was not to kill civilians but to destroy infrastructure and diminish Germany's ability to continue the war. However, the fact that significant civilian deaths would occur was an inevitable and foreseen consequence.

But this needs to be put into context. The Allied aim was to end the war which while it continued was resulting in around 10 million deaths per year, mainly civilian. Set against this, the bombing campaign, which totalled around 650000 deaths over the entire war seems like the lesser evil, if its end result was to significantly shorten the conflict.

I love the idea of some civilian additions. In particular, I'd love to have to make a crash landing in the French countryside and come to a stop near a haystack with a farmers daughter waiting on top. Ahhh, it would make waiting for rescue by the Resistance much more fun...

That would be a fun easter egg for a mission map - some crashed aircraft with a bunch of civilians standing around and gawking at it.

You can't see civilians anyway.
What's the difference? You can't see them anyway from high altitude. Sounds pretty useless to be to have civilians in the game.

using that same logic, why not just get rid of all the ground objects, and just fly around in a world that consists only of aircraft....
you can't see anything from high altitude, but whose to say at what height another player likes to fly at?
your comments are not well considered, to say the least.
no-one will force you to install civilians if you don't want them, but by that same token, you have no right to make that same decision for others.
