there is a lot of effects stuff to choose from here at SAS , so you can
pick and choose effects you like the most , just make sure to look at
and read topic's available install notes and that's all   :)

Holygrail,

I would like to ask you a big favour editing some engine smoke files, i know it has been asked before and from discussions over it i realise it is not a preference of yours, but i have tried over the past few weeks to merge yours and Aed's aircraft smokes without any success.

I am a great admirer of your effects package but historical or not i would prefer a bit more smoke when an engine is aflame or damaged. Heres two screenshots, the first showing your effects and the second Aed's effects, so you can see what i am trying to achieve.






I have tried to copy the BlackHeavyTSPD and BlackHeavySPD with their associated mat files from Aed's into your mod, but this does not work, and have tried loads of other combinations, mainly copy and paste but all have no effect.

Is there anyway you could take a look or point me in the right direction please? I have asked Aed but he is busy and does not have the time.

I fully understand if you are not able to help, but whats the harm in asking hey  ;)

Hi slipper ,
you want to have these aircraft smokes and fires imported in to Uranium effects mod ?
Not Plutonium effects mod right ? just to make sure before touching anything  :)

p.s  i just noticed aswell (don't have a screenshot sorry) that the engine damaged smoke, without fire, seems to be a bit more prounouced with Aed's effects. Is there anychance you could point me in the right direction to change this aswell please?

Slipper; I was once able to transfer the smokes you want by (I think) replacing the 3do folder with the one from Aed's pack. I preferred HG's stuff though so I reverted back. You can try this, but I don't think it'll work. Just remember to back-up everything and you can play all you like ;) I'm sure HG will have been able to help you though.

slipper meant Plutonium and not Uranium mod , it was just a little misunderstanding .
Replacing 3do folder is no go not only since you need also all custom .mat files
and textures files with it but different class files aircraft damage smokes and fires
between Plutonium and FX revolution mod makes such switch not easily doable .
A lot of other stuff would be affected and some other effects sharing also
textures would have to be tuned again .
With old game default effects editing we could swap anything in no time but we moved
in to another era of new additional effects edited through class files and these can't no
longer be just swapped because each effects mod have differently edited some of the
class files .
One mod or another but not the both at the same time and switching folders effects
files will no longer work as it should due to different class files , it will work but with
some strange completely different results .  ;)

I have a question about the ultra pack effects and the the uranium effects included in ultra pack. In ultra pack you have low, up stock/medium/ and high effects, are those effects based on uranium? Also which ones are the highest resolution and fullest effects? Can uranium be installed over high effects for best quality? Thank you :).
