Hi There,

Have finished a number of towns that needed populating.

I have also changed the wood to The Slot wood textures.

I have done some more river detailing and detailed the areas where Uzin's QMB missions are.

Will post download link after DBW 1.7 is out. Will test on that first.

Love this map  :) the mountainous areas are some of the most convincing i've flown over, they just have a great 'atmosphere' in advance of your version 2 release i tried a different tree setup

[WOOD]
Wood0 = forest/summer/Jungle0.tga
Wood1 = forest/summer/sk_Wood1.tga
Wood2 = forest/summer/sk_Wood2.tga
Wood3 = Italy_DF/forest/summer/itawood4.tga
Wood4 = Italy_DF/forest/summer/itawood4.tga
WoodMask2  = forest/summer/JForestMask.tga
WoodMask3  = forest/summer/JForestMask2.tga
WoodMiniMasks = forest/summer/MiniMask.tga
SideWood = forest/summer/ForestSide.tga

This gave a very nice effect without any of the previous tiling, it seems bad form to offer changes to someones obvious hard work, and these are only offered for your interest  ;)

The only thing that jars to my eyes is the colour of the palms and bushes around the Towns/Cities, perhaps there is a slightly darker option palm that you could use to fit more with the lovely dark jungle atmosphere that you have achieved.(this may be just my monitor/graphics settings ;D)

This is not meant as any form of critism, i really enjoy your work with this map and look forward to version2
+ thanks to Uzin for the QMBs

Cheers

Thanks Dak Pilot,

I'll try your wood set up in 43_45 version.

Yes I know about the palms your talking about for some reason these palms always look as if they need some fertilizer.

I use another palm from UP3 and does look better it was the palm that a poster had problems locating.

Grouip 3 palm.

Here you go.

Version 2 is up.

Version 3 last version.

Excessive detailing.  :D ;)

Let me know if you see anything strange and circle it on the ed map in red and will check it out.

Version 2 looking much nicer  :) a huge improvement all around, This map is shaping up to be a real gem! the palms in the Brunei town area look very convincing and blend in really well
 At Kuching they seem to be the "old" bright variety with a shorter draw distance and very noticeable "pop up" effect.

Thanks for all the hard work! looking forward to version 3

(not had too much time to fly everywhere, but will see if i find any other "bugs")

Cheers, Dakpilot

Hi Dak Pilot,

When I've got time I'll change all those unfertalized palm trees he he.

I tested your wood in 43-45 version and will use it for that version.

Version 3

Mainly further river detailing, further junglizing and general detailing from what other people pick up on.

Cheers kirby

@farang65

Can be instalation of custom objects (building) do as separate?
SFS files with this are more unstable. I have as more people CTD there due this issue.
Separated budildings in 3do folders with static.ini install will be worked always for all.
Too with clear 4.101 clear game.
This is real good map but with this SFS limitation is not usable for all.

I moved to Boomers original object pack when it first came out and now his sfs object packs.

I haved used soo many objects from that pack I think it would be difficult to track everything down.

i'm also hosting UP Boomers sfs object pack in game front.

I know it can be a problem for some.

I've never used that static.ini checker on maps but that might help tracking down objects.

SFS has no limitations.
But it seems your memory has limits.  ;D
this is not true, simple static objects never cause any problems and map need load only this.
SFS pack is NOT for all compatible. Install simple static objects will be work always for all.
SFS packing is good only for whole mods as HSFX, UP or DBW. Not good for smaller things like this.
Instalation of map is always better when can be indepenent and all needed things as give with map.

Instalation of UP Boomer pack is strange, for example in HSFX5 install have in static.ini more duplicate things (with compare stock static.ini)

yes SAS Gerax,

It was the normal thing of business back then.  :D ;)

Boomer also has provided a SAS ModAct static.ini for the sfs files.

I use both Sas ModAct and DBW to test with the objects sfs files and static inis from Boomer.

I've had to get with the times and learn new methods for mapping convinced to do so by Boomer  ;D Including using his UP3 mapmaking version.  ;) :)

If you can use the static ini checker post up a listing of whats missing.  :D

Will have a look for you in my archive of downloads. :D

I am having problems with this great looking map. It loads into FMB but wont save. I have checked the objects that were missing in my build and added the ones that were registered missing.

In the log file I still see some reports like this:

[11:42:29]   House: Section House$Terikon not found
[11:42:29]   com.maddox.il2.objects.buildings.House$Terikon.registerSpawner() failed.
[11:42:29]   java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Can't register spawner

Any ideas what this log message means? It is not the same as the missing object messages that I eliminated.
