Ive gone as far as taking the new moon TGA file textures into Photoshop and digitally enhancing them to counteract  the green haze.I mean how many time do you walk outside on a moonlit night and look up and see a green moon?  Beautiful work TT thanks.

Tried all options like changing the line in the load.ini (it gives me a nice blocky moon) or renaming that particular file to moon0000 according the entry in the load.ini. Then nothing happens, still the same old stock moon.
Another option could be the fact that it is case sensitive: folder and file are named 'moon' and load.ini entry is 'Moon'. But that didn't help either.
Files are in the right place by the way: _Tex/moon/moon/

Any suggestions? Reading this thread I notice I'm not the only one struggling with it.

The _Tex/moon/moon was an error in the text in my previous post.  ::)
Files are in _Tex/moon/

So I ran out of ideas what it could be.

did you think about to check in filelist txt of the sfs extractor for another path? if the previously mentioned path doesnt work for you then the logical conclusion is that it may changed...

This may be a bit off topic, but it looks like the moon from minecraft... I died laughing! XD

Maybe this is another of the ATI anomalies?  Anyway; I managed to fix it by modifying all the images to bitdepth 8, and adding pictures moon0000.tga and moon.026.tga (completely black - in the same format) as I found these in the maps.sfs (only these were all 0x0 and bitdepth 0). The game seems to select one of the moonxxxx.tga pictures depending on date or map/region? All map load.ini's seem to have moon0000.tga listed in the load ini, yet on different maps I get different moons.

I also extracted the original moon files and noticed the modded version misses the moon0026.tga.
So after copy-pasting and renaming to moon0026 it works.
By the way, default moon textures are 128x128, 64kB and 32-bits colour.
And just like Gumpy did I will change colour of the greenish moon.

Uufflakke, do you recall the map being used when you got the square moon?
