hi guys, I run UP 201 and there, activable via JSGME are two ATM mods by Zoy: is this one something different? or does it have some conflict with them?
moreover, what does it mean: prop wash tail removed? or better, what does it mean prop wash tail? torque or the turbulence generated by the prop of the AC you are flying behind?
thks a lot gents and best regards!

what does it mean prop wash tail? .......turbulence generated by the prop of the AC you are flying behind?

you answered it yourself  ;)

the mods should be compatible, but you'd have to compare them for duplicate classfiles, and that might well be a conflict... :)

hi Malone and thks, noticed that since version 4.1 prop tail wash was reintroduced: nevertheless I´ll give try WITH and WITHOUT the already present UP versions of ATM mod. Just one more question regarding the wind speed, something I could not understand so well from Zloy explanations: has to be put in missions as a parameter this wind speed or it changes randomly accordingly to whatever weather (or other parameter from the menu) has been choosen to fly?
have a nice day!

iirc, the wind parameters need to be entered manually at the end of the .mis file, it doesn't work with the chosen weather, specifically.  ;)

thks Malone and understood (quite all..)!
the five wind parameters should be added to the "weather" section created in mis.files and placed at the bottom of the script but what about "prop wash"? I guess it should display its effects anyway, no parameter should be added in mis.files, is this correct?
As posted I run UP 2.01 and there I have ATM mod v3.1 activated and it seems, at least with some AC (fiat cr 32) prop tail wash is inexistent... Have to try with stock AC´s even though I would find this quite strange! Maybe some other mod is "hiding" this effect, who knows....

let us know if you figure it out - i've never used that prop wash version, so would also be interested to hear your findings... ;)

hi Malone and you all!
tested deeply the 3.1 version already present in UP 201: prop wash works just fine! next step try out the last 4.3 version.
is there anyway something from Zloy explanations that stills remains obscure at least for me...
he says there's a Weather set folder in HFSX: did not find there but in Ultrapackdocs folder. following Zloy one should be able to point it to a specifical mission and there it should apply the set available in the Weather set screeen.
ok, screen with available options appears but it's only possible to point it to a mission folder not to a single one and, more important, it does nothing.
I mean, even though a weather section has been created in a mis.file, the use of this weather set tool does not add any parameter of the five mentioned by Zloy let alone create a weather section itself....so I don't know how to think about it!
anyway it's true that adding manually these wind/turbulence parameters is really effective in giving more immersion in the game. taking off with 15 to 20 knots cross wind is pure fun and recalls me quite well the real troubles I get doing the same with the light airc I use to fly!
if only that weather set would work it would make wonderfully easy to add random conditions in every missions........

sorry atallboy can´t understand, what do u mean?
if u mean which way it works then I´ll be glad to explain, this one is one of the best available mod for me as well the 6DOF_Tracker_2_0_sHr which allows for Gs and turbulence to be added "in flying"

hi crazy and u all: explanation is quite easy and the mod comes with a good readme inside.
As I posted previously my only problem is to undersatnd the way the "weather set" works and I even sent an e-mail to Zloy about the subject but got no answer....
I use the 4.3 version of this mod which allows for the "prop Wash" effect to work so that in a radius of about 70 meters from behind an AC you really feel the turbulence (from propeller) generated by the other (or others) ACs. Stick jerks quite a lot and the same happens also when u cross your own prop wash if you turn inside your turn!
Back to installation, once u drops the mod in your MODS folder then all u have to do is open a mis.file, whatever of course, QMB missions of course too, and add at the bottom a (weather) section which has 5 parameters: 1)direction in degrees, 2)strenght in m/s, 3)height max at which u still feel turbulence & gusts in meters, 4)turbulence in a scale from 1 to 6, 5) gusts in a scale from 1 to 6. (examples are contained in the readme)
when u are done and start the game, that same missionwill be affected by these added parameters: with 10 m/s wind maybe a cross wind u see and feel your Ac pointing to the wind so that take off should take into account this powerful effect and the torque one of course.
once in the air u have to struggle with wind gusts and turbulence and better is if coupled with "6DOF Tracker 2 sHr": to this u have then prop wash and I swear u: a dogfight with all this effects combined (adding maybe "poor weather also) cockpit and stick jerking and shaking all the time, turbulence , cross winds and so on and u have a "REAL" idea about what is flying and fighting (or doing aerobatics...) with a real plane!
Only negative side for me, is to edit every mission before starting the game: so to prevent me to "know" before what is going to happen in a mission I´m going to fly, I use to open randomly some of the missions I have in my different folders and adding parameters also randomly (not too extreme usually...).
Ok gents, hope this can give u an idea!
