...However, now with 1.7 this is no longer the case.  Planes spawn in wings folded.  Start engines, but then unfold wings while lined up on carrier.  This causes explosions in some cases.  In others, the planes simply do not use the catapult, but rather attempt to take off with plane power only.  Heavy load, and its into the drink off the front of the carrier deck.

Which AI mod version is now included in DBW1.7? v2.2 or 2.3?

Thanks!

P.s. Installed DBW...it's like silk!!!

In release notes, it states DBW 1.7 hosts AI Mod 2.3.

I think the new class files from Plutonium by Sanka can make undesired things in DBW 1.7 because they was based on an old version of AI mod.
Like some corrected bugs by Anto reappear again.
But only Cirx can confirm this. ;)

confirmed, vanilla DBW 1.7 now has porked carrier catapult AI function.  Just for second confirmation, try the following:

1)  Disable all mods for DBW, ensure vanilla only.
2)  Load up DBW
3)  Go to Single Missions, select USN, F4F-3, and choose Carrier Takeoff 2

This mission should load you onto a stationary carrier (Essex?) with 4 planes lined up wings folded.  Start your engine, then press a for autopilot.  Go F2 view and watch the mayhem.

Basically, the AI unfold their wings while lined up causing explosions.  Those that do not explode, roll rather than use catapult, even if you set the config.ini to use catapult for all AI.

All in all, something is amiss in the new integrated AIMod specific to Carrier Catapults.

Hopefully, it can be fixed soon, as I have a number of PTO DCG campaigns underway and with the explosions, the skies will be thinned.   ???

Plus with the Carrier Crew mod, its kind of weird watching rolling planes mow though standing crew at the catapult!   :o

EDIT:  though this is a positive shout out to the DBW crew, as this is a most excellent effort overall for offline IL2.  Simply beautiful when all the fixings and trimmings are in place!   :)

Additionally, to further test the AI Catapult issue, is there a way to maintain 1.7; however, disable the integrated AIMod?

Basically, I was going to try disabling the integrated AIMod (comment out the sfs file containing the AI Mod), and enable the JGME AIMod from DBW 1.6, to see what/if there are differences.

When installing the Bouchon:

Ha_1112_M1L        air.Ha_1112_M1L 2                                g01   SUMMER

it seems that 1.7 will always ctd at 60% ... I've tried it several times and so far out of some 30-40 newly added mod planes, this is so far the only one working in 1.6 that doesn't work in 1.7

Maybe something common to the Bouchon and a now disabled bf-109 variant?

Unfortunately freeze at 95%, have to do ctrl + alt + del to exit the game.

Updating from clean DBW 1.6, all required folders removed, all jsgme and #DBW mods disabled.
logfile here (only the relevant part, not the graphic thingies) :
Ok i seem to have a problem, when I make preview the post looks fine with the code, but when i save ther is no code only the log as if i simply pasted it  ??? also it ends before the end (sounds stupid i know). Is there a limit for letters per post ? will try in a second post
and oberst i did use instant log mod, i added it to have the complete log, and of course i restarted the game to have an updated one.

Sorry but your log just show the FM list, the game crashed before registering the error.
There is a mod here at sas that prevent that

No way, seems like my log is bigger than the forum allows  :o
anyway it continues with showing the FM's probably for every plane, and nothing else.
For those who didn't see it when i shortly posted the log (and removed because it wouldn't show in code...)
Here just the first line (of the relevant ones)that is different
Code: [Select]
No spawner for 'com.maddox.il2.objects.vehicles.planes.Plane$P_51A'

the rest looks like this :
Code: [Select]
sFMDir = gui/game/buttons
s1 = flightmodels/s-199.fmd
s = FlightModels/S-199.fmd
m_lastFMFile = null
opening new fm file gui/game/buttons

the only changing thing is the name of the plane.

Hi Mate

Just send SAS~Anto a pm with this thread link in, ask him to loo into it sometime. He is the guy that this report must get to.

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant! Many thanks!

I had a 'no load' situation when 1.7 was placed over my modded 1.6 (I disabled all mods first), tried & tried and no joy. So I made clean install of IL-2 patched to 4.101 / up3rc4/dbw 1.6, then loaded the DBW 1.7. Bingo! works beyond great, except:

when I activate #DBW_MissionPro Combo by PAL, I get a CTD. Unactivated and no problems. Solution? Many thanks.
