Beta hotfix for carrier take-off
« Reply #48 on: February 01, 2012, 02:42:23 PM »

I'm also getting those carrier take-off issues in DBW 1.7. I was beta testing the AI mod that was included in DBW 1.7 and all was still OK for me with it. Thus, I compared the classfiles of that beta AI mod and DBW 1.7, and there were older versions of seven classfiles in DBW 1.7. I added those seven classfiles into my DBW 1.7, and planes started to take off well from carriers and thus the bug (and possibly some other bugs) is fixed. I attached a pack that includes those seven classfiles from beta AI mod that fix the issue for me.

So, if you have carrier take-off issues in DBW 1.7, then please test the attached fix by installing it into our #DBW folder like any other mod.

when I activate #DBW_MissionPro Combo by PAL, I get a CTD. Unactivated and no problems. Solution? Many thanks.
Did you remove the old version of MissionPro in your jsgmemods folder before installing DBW 1.7? If you didn't, then deactivate it in JSGME, delete it in jsgmemods folder and unpack the right version from DBW 1.7 pack.

BINGO, you fixed it!!   :)

Yep, that is the problem.  Hopefully, this can be added into the sfs containing the related classfiles for the "official" hot fix!

Ok, now onward with my PTO DCG campaigns in the beauty of DBW!    :)

Hello Sir,
Yes I did. 60% CTD as before. I will re-download 1.7, maybe first one was corrupt somehow? And try again. Thank you :)

There is a fileto delete, don't remember the name, -quick.(something) or so, in that file there are all your setting for QMB, like your last plane, ecc.
If you remove some modded plane from your DBW mybe deleting that file could help.

Yes, deleting .last.quick file in Quicks folder might help with MissionPRO crashes, but I haven't had to do that yet.

Sorry guys,

I just installed DBW 1.7 for the first time after following all the string of updates from 1.1 to 1.7 and all the instructions. When i try to start it i get a CTD at 40%. No mods activated in jgsme. Any ideas?

Thanks

Just tried it and all that I can say is thanks a lot to all involved. You're the best. I had a clean DBW 1.6 install saved for this ocassion, so I made a copy of it and installed 1.7 following all the directions. After choosing DBW in the selector, it worked really smooth. I feel it much lighter and faster, specially in loading, but also in all the buttons time of response. Only checked a couple of things and all good. I love what you did with maps in FMB: much more ordered now! :D
Then, I decided to take advantage of this nice new selector and tried the old stock game, just for the nostalgia fun. It freezed at 95 % and had to do the crtl+alt+del escape, as other mates posted before. I tried DBW 1916, freezed at 95 %, then SAS modact and UP3 and guess what...you're right: 95% crash. The funny thing is that stock game background picture appeared when loading these last two options. ???
The good thing is that DBW works as fine as the first time as many times as I reloaded it.
Did I say thanks? well, you never say it enough: Thanks again.

Since installing DBW 1.7, none of my keyboard commands work except for F1 and F2. And I checked my controls. They were set as before. I also cannot change a command to a keyboard command (letter) in the controls section. Is this just me? I installed 1.7 exactly as directed.

Addendum: None of the keyboard letters work. The arrows, space bar, and Number pad function. Makes no sense.

Help.

Fantastic job with DBW 1.7 but I have a little problem PAL 6DOF doesn't work at all and I have to enable #DBW_6dofTrackIR_ClassFiles or my game crashes at 95%

I had to have both the file in my mod folder and the selector set to the 6dof.. Works fine then.
