DBW 1.7 worked perfectly, but since installing hotfix i CTD at 5%.

I just copied and pasted from hotfix zip to my install after selecting "sotck game" and moving everything left in jsgme.

spalshscreen says 1.71, 5%, then CTD. What did i do wrong ?  :'(

1.7 only works out of the box with 4.10.1. If you have 4.11 installed, then use jgsme to revert to 4.10.1: changing only the files.sfs file back is sufficient to get it going again.

As for the logfile, I'm not sure whether or not you've used this mod to fully create it: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,19308.0.html
I'm asking since your log.lst ends before any interesting stuff appears.
I have Instantlog mod installed in #DBW folder, and made  other accomodations of conf.ini file in accordance with the link you posted..
My log.lst is so short because then the run of the game start stopped with error , so I must recover it by WinXP task manager, nothing more run.
I am not using 6DOF at all. The only other possible issue might be due to NevWiev, but I doubt.
In any way, as I wrote above, the fact is the fact, that the DBW1.7 runs for me only with DBW1.6 il2fb.exe file.
Thank you again for your time, but perhaps I shall wait for new , cummulative 1.7 patch which Cirx promised. Otherwise, I as offliner, must be satisfied with that I have now.
Best regards

Are we talking about this one? http://war.by-airforce.com/downloads/newview.html
TBH it's that intrusive that even for money I wont register that dll on my system since I'd fear I couldn't get rid of it anymore, especially since there's no easy way to unregister it. According to the instructions you should remove the files, but this would keep registry settings for the dll alive. No-go for me and I could easily think of that tool mixing up things since the way it's being built, it has to interfere with the il2fb.exe one way or another.

Besides that I see from your initlog.lst that there are duplicates in your #DBW folder.
Could you please tell which JSGME switches you've enabled and which additional mods are installed?

Best regards - Mike

Had the same problems as Kpn Cardiff, but erasing the whole game and starting from scratch with 4.101, UP3m, DBW build 1.1 and up allowed me to get a working 1.7 from a clean, new 1.6.

So I guess that's what you can do in the worst case.

And I also guess that my own earlier problems came from clashes with old mods I had installed.

Same here, could not get a DBW 1,7 working over my old 1,6 buildt, had to reinstall

Yup, I'm in the midst of the reinstall process now.  And of course, once I get UP3.0 installed I, test it and get ctd at 5% :rage:

Yes, I am using it with all my installs from 4.09 over HSFX5, UP3RC4, DBW1.6, even 4.11 unmodded and modded, only the latter seem to be a bit unfriendly, all other installs work quite nicely with NewView. My joystick is BlackWidow. Most installs run from external HD, system is WinXP, PC 3GHz, 2GB RAM.

I have none of jgsme mods activated, in #DBW folder there are following mods:
1. for opening canopies of P40E, M, La-5, La-7, Laggs, P-39,
2. HudCustomize, InstantLog.
That is all so far. I am unhappy to cause so much worries here.

Not sure if this is a v1.7/v1.71 problem or not, but, has anyone else noticed that it takes a long time now for the planes engine to spin up.  I press the "I" ignition key and the prop just slowly rotates for 15 - 20 seconds before it will spin up to speed???  I even checked the "Complex Engine Management" to see if this was some kind of new enhancement or something but it doesn't seem to effect it.

Any one else have this now or know why?

TIA
