I made an account on this forum so I could get some help with installing this awesome mod. I followed two guides, one from here and one from the UP pack forums.

Basically what I did in sequence was :

- Bought Il-2 1946 off of steam and noticed it was not updated to latest version
- Searched around and downloaded and installed patch 4.11m for 1946

-Downloaded UP pack 3 and UPRC4
-I extracted UP Pack 3 to its own folder, then extracted UPRC4 over that to replace files.

-Installed and setup JSGME

-Downloaded DBW 1.0 to 1.7 (via the 4 .7z rars)
- Extracted DBW into its own folder

Then I started the game, made sure it worked and it did.

I then extracted the UP folder i created to my game's directory and then activated the relevant mods via JSGME.
I used the il-2 selector.exe and selected UP pack 3 and started the game. It crashed at 5% loading to desktop.

I figured whatever and de-activated the UP pack mods from JSGME and then moved the DBW folder into my game's directory and activated the DBW mod in JSGME.

At this point only DBW mods are activated.

I then went back to il-2 selector.exe and tried with DBW mod as a setting. Same thing crash at 5%....

What am I doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

you have not red either the UP3 or DBW Threads.
So, some generic advice, you will find the specific steps all over this place...

a) UP3 and DBW are designed for 4.101
b) make sure you have a 4.101 install, and copy it somewhere safe. (copypasting the entire game folder is enough)
c) run the game between patches and mod updates. between each update.
d)4.101+UP3 must work.
e)to use DBW go to game folder and use the JSGME application to DISable UP3.

f) only now should you select the DBW option in the Game selector (that popup window where you can chose stock or UP3 or DBW or... )

Make frequent Backups of working games.

hi all . i have little problem. i instal DBW to v1.6 and working good .then instal v1.7 and fix 1.71 . with GSME i activating #DBW_Forgotten Countries Full ,and with il2 selector exe join DBW . but for few seconds selector exe disappears and i waiting game started ,but selector again is shown. i instal game again ,but this time i get full DBW v1 to 1.71 and problem is same again

Run the game between upgrades and patches.

Options - among others:

undo the changes you made between 1.6 and 1.7 (go back to 1.6)
or
reinstall 1.6

I have a working copy of DBW1.7, upgraded from 1.6.   I downloaded the 1.7 Hotfix (to upgrade to 1.71) and a get a file "index.php".  I don't have any programs that know how to handle a php file so I am lost on how to use the Hotfix. 

I've tried to use the DBW 1.71 superpack, but my install does not work ... so I'm trying to use the Hotfix on my working copy of 1.7.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

when i do "rightclick, save target as" i get the index.php file as well.
what i do, is standard-click the link and wait for a "save as" popup window. That gives a 7zip fole to download.

I have a possibly uneducated question: I did not yet find time to update and want to do that next week, is there by chance an auto update function for UP3 RC4(or higher)?
I am not sure which version of UP is used in my install of DBW1.6...and would like to keep up with my DBW install for the day the Mig and other AMT jets fly their maiden day.

I downloaded the 1.7 Hotfix (to upgrade to 1.71) and a get a file "index.php".

I've just added an alternate download link in the Hotfix thread in order to deal with this type of issues.

is there by chance an auto update function for UP3 RC4(or higher)?

No sorry, but consolidated big update packs are being worked on.

I am not sure which version of UP is used in my install of DBW1.6

You can easily disable all your JSGME mods, update UP3 to RC4 first and then proceed with DBW updates.

when I'm not activated by 6dof il2.ehe of DBW v1.6, my game is running normally, but when activated, loads up to 95% and stops.

at DBW v1.70 or 1.71  il2 exe with il2  selector, I think something is wrong between them. After choosing from game selector-UP or DBW where to start the game on il2 il2 exe or selector ,but i`m not sure

 do not know if this counts for the first time I installed 1.70 g DBW to the game worked not problem. I tried to run through hypper Lobby and then the problems started

Quick Install Guide For DBW Build 1.71 super install
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The goal is to have one single download that includes all DBW content from build 1 to 1.71

Requirements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~ Working copy of IL2 1946 v 4.101, with UP3, and any UP3 hotfixes and updates, installed and working (at least up to UP3 RC4 or later)



Installation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

step 1 ~ Use 7zip to unpack all the parts of the superinstall

step 2 ~ make sure to DISABLE all jsgme mods

Step 3 ~ Copy over all the files from the download to your game, overwriting when prompted

Step 4 ~ Open the IL-2 Selector.exe, and make a setting of your choice, and save that setting. It is important to save the setting at least once after installation, to allow the new selector to set itself up properly. Read the included selector pdf guide in the DBW 1.7 dox folder for more info. After that you can launch your game either with the selector or with the il2fb.exe it creates.


For credits, notes and all things interesting, read the documents you find, wherever they are!

hi again    , i downloading DBW 1 to v1,71 full editions torrent file . disabel all mods and paste him my il-2 folder . activating with GSME #DBW_Forgotten Countries Full and my game loading to95% and stoped .then a activating  #DBW_Forgotten Countries Full, #DBW_AIMod and #DBW_6dofTrackIR_ClassFiles and my game working corectly . thanks all for help .your team make it great job with DBW
