109F?

I didn't wanted to risk saying it 's performance was superior to the G series 109s...

I remember reading in a book (by William Green) that Rumania started licence production of 109Gs at Brasov, but only built 16 or so before the factory was destroyed in an air raid. If correct, then converting the IAR 80/81 to take a DB605 would have been rather pointless, I suspect. All DB605s Rumania could obtain would have been used for Gustav production.

There were 2 I.A.R. planes fitted with DB engines.
One with DB-601 and one with DB-605.
Both succeeded to fly but one was almost lost due to tremendous trepidations from the powerfull engine (the one fitted with DB-601)

The I.A.R.80 "13" was fitted a Daimler-Benz DB-601 Aa, of 1175 CP.
The I.A.R.81C "326" was fitted a DB-605A of 1475 CP
