Resizing Airfield houses
« on: February 03, 2012, 03:37:59 PM »

IMO the houses in the Airfields are a little too small, if you park a plane beside it you will see it... I mean they look like they are supposed to have two floors, but they are the size of a fighter ! And only a little bit bigger than a human, who couldn't fit into the door !
I guess this wouldn't be too hard to do, just resize it a bit in 3ds...
Here two pics of what (and which houses) I mean :

Thank you to anyone who could attempt this, or just for looking :)

EEK! as Uufflakke said in a different thread, "what has been seen cannot be unseen" in a way i wish you hadn't pointed these out  ;) LOL,

I always thought there was something strange about them but never investigated closely

+1 for investigating a fix, but if the default buildings were replaced with correct scale ones would this mess up placement problems in old /standard campaigns, with aircraft bumping into now larger buildings or them overlapping?

Sorry i dont know enough about this subject , i may be rambling

Cheers, Dakpilot

I think that resizing would be a nightmare-reskinning might be a possibility if you changed the type of building ie the 2 story house in the pic- turn it into a single story house. I don't think this size issue applys to all buildings-
Will have to check now!!!

Could you just say... double the size the of the building and halve the resolution or expand the existing texture with it?

well, if change has top happen, i would advokate to sink the house 2 meters (so it looks as a single story small hut) and paint the doors higher. remove the top level windows and add a normal window at a reasonanble height.

that will avoid the problems Dakpilot pointed out.

Since we're talking about trouble-maker objects I wonder if they could be simply whiped out from game.
By the way they are not the only ones... ::)

easy enough to remove objects from your game by deleting their static.ini entry. :D

Yes! What a good idea. Maybe it's time to expunge some non-sense itens.
Scarecrows? Alligators? Flowerpots? No thank you, I don't need these.
