Haha, I knew some people would have something to say about the B-17 comment.

I actually think the b-17 is a handsome plane, but I just wanted to get a rise out of some people. Looks like it worked.

In the end, my favorite ugly bomber is the Farman 222.
It is said that some of them wereused in the french Air Force because they had been refused by Air France !

You know, for all of many of these planes indeed being ugly and not very pleasing to the eye from an esthetic point of view, I would simply love to see flying models in the game itself. Farmans, Amiots, the thing above ... how colorful they would look and how unmistakably easy to identify from a distance ...

But I still think the British Armstrong Whitworth Whitley is a very ugly plane...

Agree on that, +1 , most of the socalled ugly planes suggestet here , I find charming. They had no historical meaning. But te Withley had, almost the backbone of the British Bomberforce in start of war.

And it also was a pioneer in paratroops dropping (and also SOE agents...) !

The Whitley is ugly, but I think it had an important role in the early years of the WW2 !!!

I wolud love to see all of those planes on IL2, too!!! But i think the farman would be a favourite target of many of us, because... u know... this thing is too ugly to remain flying, lol
