I am a little surprised how many people would like to fly this plane !

Vintage WWII aircraft ... prop plane ...and something a bit out of the ordinary ... that's what Il-2 is mainly about ... when I first bought Il-2 I was enthralled by the Beaufighter ...

Only to say:  the Beaufighter TFX is back on track !   8)

I am working on a package (as addition to the famous Cirx and Malone SAS~Beaufighter Pack) with Mk.X  with real Costal command loadout + thimble nose models   and some of the real late war models with tailfin)

Cheers

OK who can help me ?    I need one information:

I have tons  pictures of the "thimbelnose"-housings of the 2c radar of these birds.  ... But all in black and white !

Does anyone have a clue whether they were painted in the camo of the plane or if they were painted separate (black, dark grey ?)  ?

BTW: the "thimbelnoses" had sometimes slightly different shapes.

THX in advance

Hi, I think that only the first thimblenoses were black, later on they were painted in the camouflagecolour:
