Lol- yes, it is a bit disturbing. As I'm sure you are aware, the whole Turbinlite program was a total waste of time and resources- anybody could have forseen it was a dud from the start, but I think that this poor de-faced mossie was a variation on the idea. Instead of the two aircraft set up with the Havoc illuminating the target, and the following Hurricane doing the shooting, I think this was supposed to illuminate the target and shoot it down. There are so many things wrong with that idea, I don't know where to start, but one of the main problems I would forsee was the light bulb surviving the cannons being fired. Thank goodness the air ministry saw sense and cancelled the project before anymore mossies were vandalized!
