Hi!
You need to install jsgme, and a mod pack (Like mod activator, HSFX, DBW, Ultra Pack)

DBW, Ultra Pack

LtSERGIO asked for 4.12, so available packs
are SAS Modact 5.30 or HSFX7 wich works with 4.12.

LtSERGIO, whichof this packs do you have installed?
or do you play stock 4.12?

I just installed it in HSFX6 and have no problems so far.
EDIT: The game crashes when I press the Quick Mission Builder. I guess that's a problem.
Sorry if I quoted this old reply but...
I have the same problem with my HSFX 7.02
Did not found any related answer to this problem through out the thread.
How can I solve this?

Hi!

I have a humble request related to this Mod.

After some tests I realised that its classfiles interfere with Trigger/takeoff in HSFX 7.02
Indeed, it was advertised in the Readme as quoted below:

"Will cause trouble if used alongside other mods that made changes to the AirportGround or Mission classfiles!"

Well, I wonder if someone or the author himself could tell me about the possibilty of keeping only the Signal Flare.
Assuming it is possible, could you please inform what classfile(s) and entries should be kept?

Obs: The signal flare is the feature I enjoy above all in this mod and I would like to preserve this, alongside the triggers, of course...

Any help will be very appreciated.
Thanks in Advance! :)

Never mind. I've got it!
Yeah! Congratulations for me... :P
I've managed to have just the signal flare after I deleted classfiles and other archives by elimination/try & error proccess.
Now the signal flare feature works alongside triggers.
BTW, the CTD when QMB button is pressed was also eliminated.

Still have a problem...

Now I have a CTD when trying to load ntrk records with this mod enabled.
After deleting some other class files I suceeded on loading the ntrk files but got a CTD at the end of tracks...

These are the class files that I've found to be mandatory to have the signal flare working:

2A582ACAE1CB4C8A
7E4961D8F15A8DE2
9B262F1298BB0046
24E954EEDD6F77F
55AF15BED14ECBD
9573A36C72AF0838
D0BDC6E6988E9D58

If some of them are deleted I have a CTD when launching the game. Deleting others I have a CTD when loading mission and one of them (I forgot what... :-[) causes a CTD when the flare is fired.
But problem is that one of these class files (or more than one) interfere on recording tracks.
I don't know what to do now. It's a pity since I enjoy very much the signal flare... :(
Could someone please help me with any idea?

Hmm..sorry but, guess I did not understand your post very well. And sorry again because my lack of knowledge!
But lets go to the points:

The second link goes to the first post of this thread, where is the download link that I used (and caused all the mess).

So, I assume that I should download it again and put the "smokes" section you posted here in the technics.ini instead of the lines they posted there. Is this right? If so, should I delete previous smokes section in technis.ini and complete replace it by this section you suggested (because many of entries will be duplicated...)
And, how about those damned class files?

Also, the first link goes to Santo's mod. Should I download & install this too? If so, should those technics.ini entries be ignored too, since I have yours here?

At last but not least,  should I download & install those "birds" too? (they scare me because Hitchcock... :D)

OMG! What a trouble just because those innocent flares... :'(

Thank You very much for your help! Very needed...

No, you misunderstood you do not need to replace, I just said that yummy these mods, you'll need the hashes with my mods that make it work, then those sets that you have. I just said that this mod changed that it does not conflict with any other mods

Ahh...well, thanks!
I'm afraid I'm still lost but, thank you anyway. You are a gentleman.
I'll try to make the flares work without messing the rest.
Thank You again for your attention!

okay, digging up graves again, sorry guys, but this is a pre-emptive post, hoping to avoid what i see as potential problems if i try and install this in my Modact 530 game.
from what i see, i can't use this mod with my install as is, and so this post is in hope that someone will show me that it can.. lol :D
basically, my issue is as follows;
the install of this asks for entries in 'smokes' section of technics.ini, and also in stationary.ini, as follows:

Quote
Add these lines to your technics.ini:
In the // Smokes section add these lines

Smoke16:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke16:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareBlueStatic.eff
Smoke17:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke17:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareBlueLowViz.eff
Smoke18:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke18:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareRedLowViz.eff
Smoke19:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke19:Effect   3DO/Effects/Fireworks/FlareGreenLowViz.eff
Smoke20:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke20:Effect   Effects/Smokes/FIDO.eff

Add to these lines to your stationary.ini:
In the [StationaryObjects] section add these lines

LightBlue         vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke16       0
TwyLightBlue      vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke17       0
TwyLightRed       vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke18       0
TwyLightGreen     vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke19       0
FIDO         vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke20       0
SignalFlare       vehicles.stationary.MarkerFlare$MarkerFlareUnit 0

currently, my 'smokes' section of my technics.ini looks like this:

Quote
/======================================================================
// Smokes
//======================================================================
[Smokes]
Smoke1:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke1:Effect   Effects/SmokesOld/SmokeShipMedium.eff

Smoke21:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke21:Effect   Effects/Smokes/SmokeBoilingBig.eff

Smoke22:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke22:Effect   Effects/Smokes/SmokeBlack_plane.eff

Smoke23:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke23:Effect   Effects/Smokes/FireBoiling.eff

Smoke24:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke24:Effect   Effects/Smokes/FireBoilingBig.eff

Smoke25:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke25:Effect   Effects/Smokes/SmokeFire_plane.eff

Smoke26:Mesh     3do/Arms/Null/mono.sim
Smoke26:Effect   Effects/Smokes/SmokeFireSmall.eff

//==================================
// end of: Smokes

and, of course, i have corresponding entries in my stationary.ini.
so, hopefully you can see my problem.
the lighting calls, for example, a new smoke entry, 'Smoke16:Mesh' and 'Smoke16:Effect', which i already have in my entries, at least numerically, if not the same file path.
so, could the solution be as simple as renaming the new 'Smoke16' entry as 'Smoke27' instead? - which would then not mess up my existing entries, but i have my doubts if i can just do this...
so,... can i do this?
if so, great.
if not, what then? i can't use this mod?

any advice, as always, much welcomed and appreciated. thanks :D

p.s: the extra smoke entries in my technics are ones that were added with a recent update to ship extentions mod, iirc.... and i don't want to mess with my ships, lol

IIRC and IIUC....

I haven't installed this mod as it overwrite the other smokes with the same number....

In the classfiles the effect is called by name so even if you alter the technics entry you'll get nothing....and is the same if you install this and rename the other smokes....

The work should be done in the classfiles calling effects section....
