Stukas over Poland
« on: March 01, 2012, 12:15:33 PM »

OK, here another one of the series. Again a quick (but quick doesn't mean to be bad) skin using some things I had previously. It's not easy to find information about Poland era, I wish to make more than one single skin, but it's quite hard to find good info and what you get has to be put on quarantine because you can see different info about same photos... ::)

So, a Poland era Stuka, again on it's usual pattern and colours, together with a non coded and unmarked ones. It's marked as Ju-87B-2, but you can use on B-1 also and it was probably a B-1, really very slight differences between them. Don't blame me because the bloody spinner, it's impossible to center it >:(.

All credits to Axis&Allies template, and Rock for original skin. That remembers me I forgot to sign it, but it doesn't matters.

Now seeing comparison between photograph and Il-2 model there are a bunch of things that could be fixed, ¿any voluntary? :D

Thanks! The skin is great (small reservations about the size, shape and arrangement of balkenkreuzes)! :)
In fact all Ju 87 who were used in September 1939 (304 planes) were Ju 87 B-1 (plus a few Ju 87 C).

Speaking of camouflage before and at the beginning of the II WW, I recommend You a book A J Press "Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings Series, Part 1":
The cover the Polish version:

The whole A J Press "Luftwaffe Camouflage & Markings Series (five parts) is very good for skiners I think.  ;)

Yep, as said because of that it's a quick skin ;). I took the best from template, and you are right that aircraft in particular had smaller balkenkreuzes, but than ones fit's better for any later aircraft and will be usable in the future, smaller ones only for that example.

Thanks for the advice, will look for that series of books :). Still there are very few photographs for Poland period.
